If you were heading due North and he was coming from the west to the east..... and by the rules of the road you were the stand on vessel.... The sad part is if he really is a captain he should know this. It seems to me that a lot of boaters out there do not know the rules of a crossing situations( or just out right ignore them) because on this form it is a constant problem. Just sad.

From what I understand… The at the oaks site lost its domain name, so Bob reinvented it on his Facebook page as video posts....... It's sad that all that info for the past is gone. I use to read all the old post when I had time...... Was interesting to read about the bait patterns and fish movements during years I didn't even fish the lake. Very educational, and that site improve my learning curve drastically in the beginning.

If it is calm I would run all the way out to the 31 line at about 4:30 a.m., and set up in 600 plus feet of water. A wise old retired charter captain, that used to run one of the "Oaks" marinas, told me "there are always good fish out at the 31 line, if you can get out there." Said he would always head there with his clients first thing in the morning, and be back with his happy clients and their limit of big steelhead and salmon just as everyone else was heading out onto the lake. I will have to say, I have never done badly way out there 12 to 13 miles off shore. I guess it all depends on the weather, how big your boat is, and how much gas you are willing to burn. Good luck, and let us know how you do.
Wow!! Doug is still trying to get people to burn tons of gas, and he doesn't even own the marina.... Lol. Did he tell you this at the gas dock? That's where I heard it!

Wow.... Pauly! This might be one of the funniest replies I have seen on here.... Even better when it comes from the guy who's boat most resembles a NASCAR then any other boat at lake breeze.... Lol love it!
Anyway.... As of the last two year... I would say light blades have worked the best for us, but the DW Two face mag was one of the better spoons last year. I think that anyone who fished it last year would say the same.

We have one on are center rigger.... Never use it... Swing up the whole rigger is a pain... Retros are much more efficient

Geezer was my mvp by far.
The little geezer was the most consistent spoon for us at the Oak this year

Slide divers are the way to go if you are fishing in tight, and want to put a diver presentation into your spread. Short lead core is all so a good idea.....one of my favorites inside of 30 fow. I would go with that over a diver.

From the information we have received from the D.E.C. Weather pending we will be receiving our fish in the second or third week of April. We will have a more exact schedule on or around April 1.

We are going to be putting the pens together at Lake Breeze marina (990 point Breeze Rd., Kent, NY) on April 4th at 9:30 am! If anybody is interested in lending a hand.... Feel free to stop in. Hope to see you there!

We had a pretty good return in pen raised salmon at the oak this year. Best concentration of salmon came late this year with the return of the fin clips. It seem that are pen project is doing its job!

The ones from cannon seem fine. Never hurt a coated probe that I have seen

45 lb is used by most of the guys on lake O. 60 lb is nice if the fish go deep but that does not seem to be an issue this year.

Good job guys! You guys beat us by 8.45 pounds. We (team outlaw) had an exceptional tournament. The best part for us is we never left the Oak Orchard. Caught a majority of our fish from the break wall to the park. Which for me was crazy because I was thinking about running everywhere. Rochester/Canada but it didn't really matter because we did pretty good for fishing out of the oak. Second place in the salmon slam 15th overall fish in the LOC. It was a great time and a fun week of fishing.

The oak is pretty jammed up with ice still. I was there the day before that nor'easter blew through. The river was froze all the way up to the pier heads.

The tekota is a good reel and comes in an LC like you want. If a line counter is a must the 800 LC would be a good fit but the drags can be a little sticky right out of the box with is kinda crazy talk for the price.
-
No not big enough. 45 Series reels are only good for a 300

Ss 1150 is the model number. The best price that I found them for was at black bear sport sporting goods....online
