  1. Fly's work great. I like to run them off spin doctors. Also i really like to run that set up off of a dipsy diver. It kills the kings and the kings kill them. There is nothing like a big king hiting that set up.When running this make sure the distance between the dipsey and the end of the fly is not much longer then your rod. If it is it can be a pain trying to land fish.Run your fly any where from 15-23 inhes off your spin doctor. You can also run this set up off a downrigger, you only need a 10-15ft lead off you ball. The deep you then these all depends on where the fish are!!Try the fly by the name of "NO-SEE-UM" it is a good one.One other tip is to try and match the color of the fly and spin doctor the best you can. In some cases that is what it takes to trigger those fish.Hope this helps, Good Luck!!

    SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

Hit the water at about 4:30 pm with some very heavy fog over the lake.Visability was about 100 feet for the whole trip. Set up in 80fow and headed west to find no marks of bait or fish and very cold water. With nothing happening turned to the north and began tohead out.Picked first fish about in 100 fow down 50 on the rigger wich was a lake trout. I stayed heading north and picked up another LT on the dipsey s/d fly combo back 215 feet. Then finally when we hit 160fow water we took our first king on the lead core down 30 feet. That came on a home made orange and chartruse spoon(no name yet but im sure we'll find one).We picked up another king shortley after on an NBK green /black down 78 on the rigger in about 200fow. This telling me the fish were scatered with the cold water.Only marked two bait pods high and one fish all night.Turned back to the south and picked two more small kings a coho and one more LT at all different depths. So all in all 8 fish boated on a evening that you couldnt see 100 foot in front of you not a bad night!!!Good Luck to all!!

  4. To answer both responses at the same time i run the s/d back 10 - 15 feet off the ball. I run two riggers straight off the back , one that has my probe so i dont run much off that rigger all that much, if any thing a spoon that i plan on keeping in the water for a while to try and prevent wear on my sub-troll cable. The other two i run at a 90 off each side.So it sounds like i need to try and find some longer booms with mine only being 3ft fixed. One other ? i have is about stacking my lines with out having the same problem i have with the s/d. I've yet to try it in fear of making a miserable mess but i would like to if nothing would be bothered by it . Also my beam is only 7-7.5.Thanks for the help and if any more input please share i would appreciate it very much!!

  5. I just added 2 more riggers to my boat to make 4. i am having problams when running a spin doctor. It is catching the other lines of the rigger on the same side of boat. Could it be the strong current i had or am i doing something wrong??The same thing seems to be happening once and a while when picking up DINKS. Anyone have a clue? my only guess could be that i need longer booms on my back riggers that are 36"???

    Thanks ALOT
