==================== Very unusual day out there for me. first time out since may r/t boat issues. Found loots of marks at 80 to 100, with temp all over the place, from 47 to 71 80 ft down. i run mono, no wire or copper, just two dipsey's and 2 riggers with sliders. braided dipsey was needed today 2.0 at 300. riggers at 90 got many fish. very strong current today, liked the southwest troll. Ended up with a 13.14 steelie lamprey attached, great fight for my father in law who's a new be, to take big fish for today so far, ALSO A 9.14 STEELIE FOR MY BROTHER IN LAW. of course I lost a steelie in the 12 to 14 lb class after 3 jumps. we caught some smaller steel, one shaker salmon, and lost a bigger salmon after a long run. it was great to get out and enjoy K OZ again, Good luck everyone and remember enjoy our world class fishing !

SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Fished from 630 - 430 with a break in between. We ran 5 rods 3 riggers from 55-80 and 2 dipseys mono at 250 and and 180. first fish a 7-8 lb. steelie on a blue silver nk. Then bill got a 17 lb. king on a green nk. from there it was coho city with a few med kings mixed in. Fish were all over the water column. The kings were deeper 75 plus. We fished from the red barn to somerset, from 50 to 240. it was a great day to be out. Did not mark much bait at all. We tried to fished high for steelies and low for lakers, picked up only laker in 57 ft of water off somerset on a dipsey. i learn something new everytime I'm out. i ran into alot of nice people. i can only say this - most people don't have the means to go and fish lake o or if they do they may be a first timer, or have their family and kids with them, they may not be perfected in the art of trolling, i must remind myself of why i fish and that yes i want to catch that big salmon, but i am privledged to have the opportunity to do what i do and would be happy for anyone to do the same. I was a poor kid who grew up on the east side of Buffalo i had to survive, confronting people on the water is not the proper thing to do, i can agree to disagree, but i don't think there are many fisherman sober or not whom are out to purposely make another fisherman's day miserable. i have to remind myself of this all the time - I'm not perfect, were not perfect. Fish n have fun it's what were born to do ! LIFE is GOOD !!!!!

Trolled from 430 till 730 off the bar in 80 to 120 ft of water. Only one other boat out. fished spoons off riggers and dipseys. no bait or marks on screen. trolled for 45 min nothing, then a salmon ripped the rigger at 45 ft, then a laker ripped the other rigger, then both dipseys got hit. It was nuts for 20 minutes we got all 4 fish in. salmon was a solid 15, biggest laker - the only one without a pic was 15. We caught one more 15 lb. laker in 60 ft. headed back to the dock. nice calm day on the water LIFE is GOOD !!!!!!!

  6. Was able to fish late into the season this year, This boat has been good to me i have a new cruiser waiting for the spring so i am posting one last time till i put her in storage till april. What I have is a 23' 1983 Proline walkaround. 1991 Yamaha 200 hp 2 stroke with oil injection, tilt n trim, runs great, and a 1993 trailer dual axle. Transom and floor are solid i used once a week last 2 years from erie to ontario, fishing and tubing. Tops out at 32 mph, Very reliable. Perfect size handles 4 footers but can trailer easily with my durango. New tires on trailer, has basic gps/ fishfinder. Trailer needs lights paint, boat will need bottom paint - It is what it is. More pics and video available - Boat has bimini with windless also, dual batteries, 3950.00. Tom 716- 229-9909, Thanks.

  7. Thanks for the info, i will try again in a couple of weeks - I have no leadcore or copper, tried them and don't prefer fishing that way, but I can get my dipseys down to 70' and 50' off the planners - and will bring a downrigger next time, i will fish the south end like you guys said with spoons and a couple flys, nice lake and thanks again for info.

  8. Fished saturday morning out of geneva, cold wind 10 mph out of nw. Never fished this lake before i live on erie and troll both there and the big o, i was intrigued by the prospect of fishable water. Setting out fishing in a 16' polarcraft my 25 hp yamaha four stroke we fished didseys with spoons anywhere from 20' to 70' down over 60' to 240' nothing, no marks on sonar fished 2.3 to 3.2 on top water temp was 45. Nice scenery and not another boat , could see down to bottom in 30' of water. fished west shore. Did mark perch or lakers on some humps off castle on the bottom though. Any suggestions may try cayuga bnext time, how deep are fish through winter, should I run planner boards? Any trip is a good trip it's in the thrill of the chase.

  9. 1983 23' PROLINE Walkaround. 200 hp 1991 Yamaha ob, 1993 double axle trailer. This boat has been very good to me, used regularly for fishing, tubing and cruising. Cruises 24, tops out at 31. This boat can handle anything thrown at it. dual batteries, solid floor and transom. Could use cosmetic touches, couple latches loose, bottom paint, wax. Motor is good, tuned up once a year, new ems last year, oil injection, Trailer some rust - but works great 4 brand new tires this year. Bought a bigger boat. Tom 229-9909, thanks. Full Bimini top

    SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

3 of us headed out of olcott at 0615, I was late. Very hot and 3 building to 4 footers from the ssw. Wanted to stay inside hoping it was somewhat calmer - just alittle - started to run 4 on riggers and 2 on dipsies. that lasted an hour with only a shaker on the rigs, and an 7 lb. king on dipsey. thought it would be easier to run 4 dipsies and let the riggers sit- that was the right call. I run mono to dipsies. outside at 2.5 each out140 and 180. 2 inside at 0 setting at 120 and 130. within an hour had 6 matures on boating 4 from 19 to 22 lbs. on middle riggers. any coler spoon by itself worked. Had to troll se to nw and back. last hour kings died, but managed 5-6 pound steelies and a tiny brown. Only a couple other boats out, worth the waves. fyi have been out for 3 other trips over last 2 weeks averaging 3 fish an hour. what a great year. life is Good !!!
