  1. Thanks for input guys. Most are being broke under normal wear a tear. Had one break attaching it to the planer line. These rods are the only rods consistently breaking and it's always the same section between the 2nd and 3rd guide. They just dont flex much. I actually considered getting a couple ugly stik MH rods and replacing the guides with the broken sections I still have. Just looking for something better. I run taloras for my wire rods and love them.

  2. Are there any other options for all steel guided rods other than the okuma glt? These rods break far to easy and are too stiff. I am sick of breaking 3-4 top sections a season. I have been shopping for other options but have not found anything.

  3. Fished over the weekend and did very well on browns on Friday went out 8 big browns in the boat. On Saturday those fish were all gone, so we went deep and ran a king and steelhead program. Screens were excellent working 160-176'. Had a great temp break down 42-47'. Caught a few steelhead and many small kings and a big bonus brown.

  4. Fished today as well. Boated over 20 lost another 5-6. Cores, slide divers, and riggers all took fish. 10, 8, 6, 5, and 4 colors all worked. Mix of salmon, steelhead, and lakers. Great quality fish today. It was my buddy's first time ever fishing Ontario and he managed to put 7 on deck. Caught his first salmon steelhead and laker.

  5. It's not just the weight that makes them pull harder. The extra keel adds twice the surface area for resistance in the water. With the extra keel you can pull 3 lead cores or 2 coppers like they were deep divers. Run a lot tighter at slower speeds and while turning ad well. We'll worth the add!

  6. Fished this am from myers along the west shoreline. It was windy rough and a non existent bite. Marked fish pretty much the whole time. Ran a kitchen sink type approach with lead cores of 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2's with sticks and all different spoons. Also ran riggers and and planers with deep divers. Trolled 9 lines for 8hrs and managed 1 small Atlantic on a deep diver. Trolled speeds of 1.7-2.6 down speed, they just wouldn't cooperate.
