  1. I saw one doe in my new/old spot still don’t have a stand for it since I’ve been super busy and only going after work so I was sitting in a small hedgerow in a field. About 1 minutes before dark I could hear a ton of commotion in the thicket off the end of the field. Went on for about 5 minutes until a doe blew out into the field definitely being chased but the bucks just aren’t that dumb yet. I’ll be sneaking in near there with my climber Thursday

  2. So as I am typing this I am waiting for a my connecting flight from Atlanta to Rochester. I have quietly been on a 12 day hiatus in Costa Rica. Costa Rica was a great place to vacation but I'm glad to be on my way home. No rest for the wicked, starting tomorrow morning the hunting grind begins.
I'm still catching up on the thread. I am looking back at some great stories and some great deer shot. Congratulations to everyone!

You ever been to Cabo on one of your yearly trips? Thinking about going with a couple buddies in the spring and would like to get as much fishing in as possible since everything else seems pretty cheap.

  3. The first place I ever hunted with my dad was in the process of being sold so I couldn’t hunt there this year. Deal fell through and I found out I was able to hunt there again yesterday. I was gonna go out after work since it’s only about 15 minutes down the road. Sitting at work I just realized I drove a different vehicle today and my bow and bin of clothes is not in it.... lol

  4. Gator I’ve heard that report a lot about yesterday. I saw maybe 15-20 different deer on their feet yesterday including 2 1.5 year olds and one possible shooter in the brush who was tearing up scrapes and wrecking a tree rub. This morning I saw 2 does and a small basket 7 so far, one of the does was the one I had the bad shot on yesterday. Thankfully she had a very slight limp but was cruising along pretty well.

  5. I think she’ll be fine, sucks but they’re tough i hope she’ll be fine, I’ve found plenty of broadheads in bone. I was on her and went to settle in for the shot and bumped my cheek/thumb. Just switched to a thumb release this year gotta get more used to keeping my thumb away from it especially with some adrenaline pumping.

  6. Got a new spot this year only second time hunting it. Had a bunch of does behind me first thing and then a group came in in front of me. Shot the biggest one looked like a good hit but she ran away with her front leg up. I saw the arrow fly about 20 yards later couldn’t tell if it was whole or broken then she stopped I thought she was going to pile up but she went about another 30 yards out of sight. Concerned I hit her shoulder. Other than that been a good morning with 2 1.5 year olds in range and what appeared to be a shooter walking by me through the brush at about 70 yards 5 minutes ago. Was gonna get down at 9 to check arrow and blood but they still seem very active.

  7. Ohio DIY Public land.

Hey guys I'm planning on doing a public land bow hunt in Ohio this year. I've hunted there during gun season before some on public land some on private as the landowners out there aren't too stingy with giving permission. For a week or long weekend bow hunt however I want to find some deep public land where I can get way back off the road and make it easier on myself to plan things out from home instead of winging it for a chance to waste time not finding a place to hunt. I've looked up some of the public land they have to offer and a lot of it is small tracts or larger tracts that are more well known with high pressure i.e. Salt Forks. I was wondering if anyone on here has any knowledge of solid public land where I can get deep in from the road on the Central-Eastern part of the state. Paul
