Anybody have any extra Quik Slides they want to get rid of. I'm trying to fabricate a removeable transom bar, and these would attach to the bottom of the big jon pedestals for easy removal. Thanks.

I've used Maxima in chameleon color for years. Fishing for smallies in whirlpool state park where rocks are everywhere. It is one of the toughest non braids out there. I can't find it anymore though

I would consider purchasing any good used big jons as long as they are electric and have swivel bases. Also I need 2 quik slide bases for my mounting bar across the transom. Thanks.

Marcum LX3-TC. Best bang for the buck. Adjustable zoom so you can target suspended fish (not just fish on the bottom), 3 color seperation, Excellent battery life, Nice carrying case. I am a person that does alot of research before I spend money, and am very confident on this one.

Actually I bought a 98 Bayliner 2452 Cierra Express Hardtop. Has a 305 V8. Going to pick it up on Friday.

Looking to buy 2 Big Jon Pro Tournament downriggers, rods, wire dipsy rods, lures, etc

They are both very similar in aspect of deck space. The Sea Ray has a fold up bench seat in back. Both have very similar cabin/ cuddy set up. It looks like the bayliner is more suited for fishing, but I have seen some nice Sea Ray's set up. I guess it comes down to is $2000 more for the Sea Ray worth it?

I'm having a hard time with this. I like the cuddy styles on both boats (very important in my wife approving of the boat purchase) however not sure which would be better to set up for Salmon fishing. I want to run 4 downriggers, 2 dipseys, and Lead off the back at times. May end up with planer reels in the future for those staging fish or trips to Erie. The Searay will set me back a couple grand more. Is either one easier to work with when wiring? I've heard that Sea Rays are better boats. Any input appreciated.

Sunday morning started out great as my 11 yr old son, Tyler, and I slipped into our stand early. Right after we got set up, Tyler heard grunting on his side of the ditch. sure enough we listened to the buck grunting and walking right past us at 30 yds or less, but it was pitch black. After he passed, another buck was grunting and walking by on my side of the ditch. We heard his horns slapping off the brush as he came through grunting up a storm, but again it was too dark.

After daylight we heard nothing for awhile, then, at about 8:30 the sounds of a chase in progress caught our attention. I quickly gave a few doe bleats, and this 8 pt. came out into view. He went back into the brush, so I hit the call again. He lowered his head and came weaving through the brush, right into my shooting lanes. He was moving so fast, I had to stop him as I came to full draw. Tyler watched as my arrow blew right through both lungs, and he tore off and crashed 30 yds away.

I texted my buddy Chuck the good news. I climbed down and unhooked my bow. Tyler was halfway down the tree. I looked in the ditch, and 30 yds away, directly downwind stood the doe he was chasing. I looked up to Tyler and told him to watch her as I nocked an arrow. I came to full draw and she turned slightly, opening up her vitals, and I drilled her as well. She went 40 yds and piled up.

We recovered both deer and brought them back to my garage to hang them. We no sooner got them hung when I got the phone call. My buddy Chuck had fallen 35' from his stand and died. He may have had some issues with his heart as we found out later. One of my best mornings ever, turned out to be Chuck's worst.

R.I.P. Chuck and thank you for all the good times we've shared and all you've taught me and Tyler.

Now that my construction business has become somewhat productive, I decided to get my kids and my grandad back out there. In the process of purchasing and rigging my boat up.
