Same kid and I were swapping out old Cannons for new this afternoon and were using the old booms for the new ones. Kid was drilling new holes in the booms and snapped the bit and drove the remaining half completely through the tip of his middle finger on his left hand. Bloody mess. Two hours at Urgent Care, fed him some lunch and back to finish the job lol. 

Couple hours with my son in 80 this morning. Went 3 for 3 with two small Kings and a laker on paddles with bait. Pretty morning. 
King in pic was full of eggs. 

That’s awesome!  

My money is on Frogger. Go get em Mike!

Couldn’t ask for nicer weather. Looking forward to hearing stories and seeing pics. 

Solo three rod trip from 730 to 9. 
Water temp at 50 within two degrees of surface. Some bait tight to bottom. 
One King less than 10 50 down over 70 and one slimer on a dypsy out 180. 

Heading out in the morning for a few hours, haven’t been out in a while.

Depends on the spoon. 1.8- 2.8 

Just wind on 200 feet of 30 when the fleas show up and you should be good. 

Be careful. When the wood planks are submerged for a few days or more slippery is an understatement.

I run my releases extremely tight. Tight enough that most fish can not release them on their own. 20# kings struggle to release them. When a fish hits them I want to be able to get to them and release them. Not the fish. Lock them down and I bet your hook up ratio increases.

I’ve fished with Rob. They are tight for sure lol.

Every wire had been chewed down... some almost to nothing.  Credit to dad for taking on this ambitious project knowing we most likely wouldn't be able to rewire the entire engine in time for the event.  He pulled out the engine schematics and re-did all the wiring and low and behold that old smoker craft fired right up again!  The smokiest of all smoker crafts was back in action and ready to rock n' roll!!

 

 

Tournament day had some beautiful weather and it was nice that we had scheduled the event with no bass tournaments to contend with at the sole public launch on Conesus lake.  Lord knows my experiences at the launch have not always been my best moments... haha.  Fishing had some good activity throughout the day but lots of non-committal lazy follows early.  Ironically almost all tournament participants seemed to either catch or have follows from a bullhead or two that day:

 

 

We ultimately managed once nice pike at 35", good enough for 2nd place and big fish that I caught 2 casts after snagging a bunch of sunfish schooled up out there.  Dad and my brother both missed a couple other fish during that 1/2 hour window around 10 AM that day.  Special thank you to Dan Lacko for returning my brothers spinner bait that he snapped off during one of his casts.  Dan just happened to notice the line floating, pulled in the line to find a nice spinner bait and then heard my brother and I talking about how upset we were that we lost his favorite spinner bait that day at the awards afterwards!  What are the odds!

X4 for a grand plus tax. Plus another deuce every couple years when the probe is out of warranty and the down temp doesn’t read. Still the way to go. 

Left the dock with my wife and were set by 7:30, pulled at 10:00. Worked 50 feet with riggers at 30 and 40, divers at 90 and 110, sticks on both boards. 
Had a hard rip on the 110 diver and could feel it was a solid fish. Wife goes to steer and the 40 rigger gets hit and the fish runs hard towards bottom. 
I park the diver rod in the rod holder and steer and wait a few minutes for her fish to come up. 
16 and 17 lb lakers. For a minute or two it was pretty exciting lol. 

Beautiful boat. 

I looked for Browns from 730 till 10. Caught one 6 pounder in 25 feet of water. 

That’s cool!

I’ll be out of Braddocks in the morning myself. Looks like a nice morning. 

I had two sticks on top. Riggers were down 40 and 50. Divers out 180 and 210 which in theory were down 60 and 70.

I try to avoid lakers.
