Thanks Mike! Now it’s time to find a buck. 

199 dressed. Old deer, low T. Still had velvet a month ago. Both antlers popped off on the way out of the swamp. 

Three year quest. Pretty cool public land bow buck.

So my friend and I  straight out from Green Harbor 150 ft  on a slight chop mid morning. I see a boat we were coming up on and as we got closer i see it was dead in the water and no body was in it . I figured it broke loose from moring and drifted out overnight as the breeze was offshore . We trolled right up to it and as we got close I saw a guy stand up  quick and sit down fast . I was about 100 ft away and I asked if everything was OK . He said I'm fine and seemed real embarrassed . I looked at the boat and am saw another guy laying on the floor hiding . Saw them both at the ramp putting their boat on the trailer . 

 

I don't know what was happening our there but I have my suspicions .

Took three shots with the TC today. First two were high but reasonably tight for off the box side of my truck. Dropped 12 clicks and third shot looked good.

Best one I’ve seen recently was today from my truck lol. 

It’s funny Mike I still think every time I go that it’s going to happen. 

Two months into the season and my buck tag is still in my pocket. I’m hunting a lot and have seen a lot of bucks. Have passed a lot of 2 1/2 and younger bucks. October 18 I had one of my target bucks inside 40 yards but I couldn’t get a clean shot. Have seen two or three other big bucks but no shot. 
Decided I better knock down a doe for the freezer and I knew the one I wanted. Although the foodplot in my backyard is loaded with doe every evening there is one that travels with in a group at one of our leases with two younger doe and a couple yearlings. Multiple times during bow on that property she would find me and blow at me. 
Around 9:30 this morning the group appeared in front of me at 30 yards. The yearlings came out followed by some older deer but I waited. Sure enough I saw her long face come through the brush and I shot her. Pain in the butt recovery through wet swampy terrain and a long drag to where I could get the quad to but got her loaded and out by myself. She won’t be blowing anymore.
