  1. Today's Easter Egg Hunt...

Looks like those females are still full of eggs. Slimy can you confirm? There might still be a bit of the run left.
  2. Not to my knowledge. Walleye come into the ponds to spawn every year and I've never seen them have an effect on perch.

Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  3. Fished Long Pond yesterday morning. Pressure was unbelievable. Shoulder to shoulder at both long and cranberry. Literally hundreds of fishermen. Only managed 4 keepers in almost 5 hours. Did not appear as if anyone was catching much.

  4. Gotta believe the run will be later this year. The ice cover on Lake Erie is keeping river temps around 34 right now. They say the magic temp for the smelt run is 42.

  5. Looking for any info on perch fishing in the upper river.  Anyone know of any bites anywhere?  Specifically, any action around the Ontario bar or in any of the local marina shore fishing sites?  Any info is much appreciated.

  6. wonder why the erie perch go so deep. Our perch in ontario stay shallow.Caught a bunch of 13 in.plus ten feet ot water last week.

John, can you share a bit more info about where you got these. Where do you launch? Waypoints? Etc. thanks.
  7. Question for anyone willing to help...I'm headed from Niagara County to Sturgeon Point tomorrow early morning. Hoping to find a perch bite, but if not, plan to target bass. I'm looking for a place to buy bait on my way. Looking for small perch sized shiners and some crabs and leaches. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  8. I fished for a short time Sunday until the winds really kicked up.  We were on the water by about 6:15 a.m. and fished for about 3 hours mostly on the Ontario Bar.  Only managed 8 keepers and threw back about 3 for every 1 we kept.  The water temp was 61 degrees which leads me to believe that the spawn is over and most of the perch have headed out to the deeper waters in Lake Erie.  That being said, we did catch a few, and had the wind held up and given us more time, maybe we would've gotten into a steadier bite.  You never know...

  9. Fished the Ontario Bar today. Tough conditions. Cold and quite a bit of wind. Still managed to come home with 43. Emerald shiners off the bottom. Hope it keeps up.
