In the prop wash it will also get a not so healthy dose of exhaust gas

Perhaps prop wash wasn't the best term. my main motor doesn't run when trolling. the fish is connected to the starboard side of the boat and I run a kicker on the port side... pretty sure my 4 stroke 8hp Yammy isn't poisoning the salmon from the other side of the boat with exhaust fumes. the big motor is still down in the water creating turbulence which oxygenates it.

This is the best solution i have found.

I have not tried a descending device

  2. (2) 2015 Cannon Uni Troll 10 STX manual downriggers for sale. These are higher end manual riggers with telescoping booms adjustable from 24" to 53"

Comes with 300 ft of brand new cable on each rigger

    (2) quick disconnect/multi position cannon bases

    (2) Weight retrieving retros

Some spare parts included (drag disks, misc HW)

1 rigger is missing a rod holder and has damaged base where the rod holder attaches to the frame (dock strike). replacement rod holder and frame can be purchased through cannon for $80+ shipping and can be installed at the buyers expense if desired.

These riggers are $300 each brand new. Asking $250 for the pair as is.

  3. Sodus is a shorter drive to backup plans....but Like others said, sandy creek/oak orchard in late June is great fishing. Sodus has great bass fishing right in the bay also during that time of year. both are great options. and you were able to launch at both locations during the high water last year. Sandy would likely be closed, but we got in at bald eagle marina just down the road without an issue.

  4. Shot this nice blonde male a few weekends ago. I did about 20 mins worth of distress calls with no activity, then started howling. First a locator then different female howls (deep/long/submissive) with a few minutes between each call. No responses at all. shut the caller off and about 3-5 mins later this guy came in silent. He weighed in at 39lbs. According to the taxidermist the blonde color phase in males is very rare. Most with blonde or red coats are female

  5. I owned this exact truck in the 2012 year class. I towed my 19' Aluminum. Total towing weight (boat/motor/trailer/full tank of gas) was 3300lbs. I would say the truck pulled the boat without issue but breaking distance was poor, even with top of the line aftermarket rotors and pads the truck did not do a great job stopping. I will add that my trailer WAS NOT equipped with surge breaks or breaking of any kind. (when you exceed 3000lbs surge breaks are required).

This caused me to upgrade to a full size truck this winter.

I would say if your trailer has breaks you might be ok. but without them I would not recommend it

Power was not an issue at all

Ok well long night last night we def had a little gut material. So we didnt want to jump him after that 150 yds. So back this morning with a dog to play it safe. And thank god we did. The coyotes jumped him out of his bed in the thick stuff and chassed him a total of 997yds. Across a hill. Literally only a speck of blood every 50 yds. Just hoping the dog was doing the right thing. And we found him half eaten... But that deer back tracked on its self. Went different ways than u would ever expect. 100% would not of found that deer! But. Happy to get him! Hit was about exzactly where I thought slightly quartering to me. Hit one lung huge slice from liver and stomach. Grossed him at 135! First buck ive shot on my new land so pretty happy! 1106190957_HDR.jpeg1106190854a.jpeg1106190854.jpeg1106191006_HDR.jpeg

  7. EVERYBODY was telling me I had to do full body. I'm single and have a finished basement where all of my taxidermy resides, so I have the room (FOR NOW). Still very expensive for half body at $1600. But I will never get another one, most likely will never even see another one

  8. I was lucking enough to bag "a deer of a lifetime" this weekend. A Piebald 10pt 3.5yo buck in Prattsburgh. I have never seen this deer on any cameras before. It was an absolute shock when I saw him at 7:30 Saturday morning. It all happened within 8 seconds but I put a good shot on him (entry shown in pics-20ft ladder-20yards) and I heard him crash. After posting him on NY antler I got tons of feedback from local hunters that had been following him. A few had pictures back to 2017. 1 guy had him at 18yards and couldnt shoot because he had his tag filled, another let him pass as a 1.5yo and had him out of range this bow season. I was able to put this map together off all the property's that had sighted him. pretty cool to learn so much about a single buck. I'm tickled to have him and I'm doing a half body mount on him.

  9. $9bucks on weekdays $14 for weekends. Oh and make sure you pay before you launch or else they will put a wheel lock on your trailer and try to milk you for more $

It was only my 2nd time launching there under new owners and i missed the kiosk in the dark. there was nobody there to pay a launch fee to and had every intention of paying when we returned....the Wheel lock on my trailer really left a bad taste in my mouth. unfortunately there are very limited options in Monroe county this year.

  10. Had a great trip last night. Went 12 for 14.. had a triple and a double. we hunted from 180 to 90fow. 95-110 was best. Tons of marks. only 1 big pod of bait. riggers down 65 and 80. divers down 270-290. Coppers did well in 300 and 400 lengths.mostly a meat and fly bite. Lance 2 face paddle with Attomik stud fly in the sun and then glow hammer once the sun got low with a white 2 face spinny. A-TOM-MIK meat rigs in stud, davis destroyer, and a chrome one that i cant remember the name off. 65 Rigger had 50 degree water. Made it from port to wautoma shoals and back

the 22lb king we kept was full of Alewives

    Thanks for the info @whaler1
