    I want to start off by thanking all the guys who put this together- Scott, Rob, Brian, Matt, and whoever else had a hand in this- another great tourney!

    Congrats as well to Jerry and his team for putting a nice box together.

    Thursday night we headed out to check temps and saw the warm water rolled in. Had a great screen inside @ 100' so we sat down in that as we had a tip that the blue water was producing. Took 4 brown trout shots- none that made it to the boat.

    BFF- we headed out to 250' and pointed it north. Had a good day with over 10 bites most of which came off of our meat rigs and e chips with Minion flies behind them down deep. The 450' copper, 130' rigger, and both wires out 300' were studs. Biggest king we would land was 20.66lbs. After seeing the big kings on the board we knew we needed a solid 20lb average for 3 fish and a kicker to take it home on sat.

    Tourney day- We sat down at 300' out front and trolled north again, this time a very slow start. We got to 500' with a 15lb king and a small steelhead to show . Once we turned we heard that the 250' water was producing so we went in to check it out- WOW was it HOT! As soon as we hit 300fow rods were on fire. It was an all meat bite for us (for the big Kings)- all in the 70-120' down range. 11" Challenger paddles took 3 of our 4 kings.We ended with a 22, 29, 18, and 16lb king (18lber came at 1:55) to finish 8th in a top 10 consisting of almost all pro boats. We also out a 19th place LOC steelhead on the board.

    Overall a fun day as the rods were non stop once we got in the 250' water.

    I'm sure Dave has some pics from the day if he wants to post them.

    Rigged KOTO leg 2

    Went out Friday evening to see how the lake looked after the winds- we went 2-2 searching from 4-9pm on a skippy king and steelhead around 150-200'

    On our way in we noticed the current died on the inside waters and a small temp brake was around 35' down over 80fow. After the slow evening we were contemplating heading offshore.

    Saturday morning we decided to stay in and start there as the lake calmed over night- it payed off. We sat down in 60' and trolled north. We had decent screens with bait up high and a few hooks suspended- just what we were looking for. We headed west and took our first fish in 90' on a meat rig buried on our Big Jon rigger. 15lbs and enough to go in the box. After we got our whole spread out consisting of spoons cheated on 3 of 4 riggers,meat deep on the last rigger, a 250 copper with meat, both wires 170' and 200' out on a 3 setting with meat, and a 10 color with a mag orange crush the starboard wire at 200 fires with a 12lb king. Shortly after we get that back out the port high rigger fires 10lb brown. As we were setting the rigger back out our 170' wire goes screaming and after a long anxious fight we boated an 18lb king and had our box by 8am. Knowing we would need a 20lb kicker we searched that water, but the sun came out and the bite died down. We knew trolling north would be our best bet to try to get that rogue salmon, so we headed north around 1130 to see what we could do. We picked up a 12lb laker in 170' on another wire and after hitting 300fowz we knew we needed to make a move. We burned back inside for the last hour or so and took another 12 lb king on the 10 color with the orange crush. After hearing of some struggles I had thought we had a top 5 box, so we headed in to weigh. We ended up with 46lbs and change, enough for 4th.

    Overall a good day- we boated around 10 fish it just could not find that kicker.

    The 4th place finish leaves us at 2nd overall by a pound and change. It's nice to see 2 Sandy creek boats up top for the time being!

    Next up is SCS- hopefully we can keep up our momentum as the fishing is bound to get tougher the next three events.

    KOTO/OOO/Sandy creek 6.20-21

    KOTO- pre fished for a few hours thurs night with a little luck around 200'. Took off Fri morning to thunderstorms and rain. As soon as we started burning out to our waypoints we saw 3 close strikes so we came back in until around 7. Headed out to 150' and took a few small kings. Once we hit 200' we had a laker and a 15lb king on board both off meat deep. It slowed a little after that when we took a huge rip off of our 120' meat rig- 16 and change king. 5 minutes after fighting the fish our 300' diver meat went screaming. After a 15 minute fight we landed a 17.75 laker. All came out of 205' about 100 down. All west troll going with the waves. We were about 5 miles west so we decided to pull lines and burn east of port to work that water again as an east troll against the waves wasn't working for us. We got back to the mouth at about noon and decided to burn in as we had a whole weekend to fish and didn't want to break anything. We thought we had a decent box, but didn't know it was as good as it was. As we waited for teams to weigh in we saw a lot of smaller lake trout and knew we were in the money- we weighed in a 48.27lb box with 3 fish and we thought we had it. Low and behold mr Paul Czarnecki came strolling in with a 22.5 lb king and beat us by .33 lbs.

    We had a good feeling going into the weekend as we did all of our fish but 2 steelhead (weren't targeting them) and sat back at our waypoints and headed west. We picked up 3 quick salmon (all small) and stroked it until about 1030. We headed north in search for some steelhead and only picked up one in 450'. The last two hours we worked inside for lakers and the screen was blank. We only weighed in 4 fish. All spoons today- go figure..

    Sunday we knew it was going to take a big box of 20lbers to make some noise so we stuck to our game plan and sat down in 180 headed north. Had a beautiful steelhead when we were putting down our first rigger but it came unbuttoned 20' from the boat (easily 10#) we lost two screamers after that one that came unbuttoned on the first run, second as soon as I got it out of the rod holder. We could not pick up a king to save our lives. We worked back into 100' or so and the lakers were back so we ended up with our 3 lakers and a steelhead day two. Spinny/ fly and spoons took fish again.

    Overall a disappointing weekend after a hot start on Friday. The meat bite shut right down on us.

    Sandy Creek

    Took a few friends out of Sandy on sat- worked our water from OOO and hooked up right away w a 12# king 110' down on meat. Worked west on a happy troll as the waves weren't particularly comfy going into and ripped 1 more 7lb king 90' down again on meat over 180-200fow. Worked in off the nose to laker fish and picked two more up on the way home. Sloooow day.

    Sun- wanted a derby brown so we headed east towards the shoals and worked 7-40 fow with a 14 lb laker to show (30') temp was 60 on top 47 5' down. Once we got to the lighthouse we took a turn and hooked up w a 8-9lb brown on a... Get this- we didn't have split shots on the boat so my engineer brother decided to run a spoon behind a stick bait to get it down. Go figure.

    On the way home we worked that water to the buoy and caught a bunch of lakers on the way back nothing of size. Dummy me decided to hit the up switch on the starboard rigger without telling anyone and plopped a torpedo in the lake after it jammed up.

    Anyways another crap weekend on the lake. I wish this would set up someday! Lol

    Rigged @ Rochester/WHI 5/1- 5/9

    Took the week off for spring loc, salmon slam, 1k and to pre fish for WHI. After the tough winter we planned to fish Rochester for the first half of the week then search out in Wilson.

    5/2-5/5 I Bay

    We fished hard all weekend working 30-60 fow and whacked the Kings pretty good from shipbuilders to Webster. Spoon bite was all we really had, while we took a few shots on meat as well. It was nice out there as of all the fish we caught, only 3 or 4 were not salmon.     5/6-5/9 Wilson

    Stared close to port as we heard 80-110 was the place to be. Set up pretty much straight out from port in 80 and whacked em' all day. We did at least 40 fish with doubles and triples being a normal occurrence. Of those fish the majority were lakers with about 11 kings boated. Biggest was about 17.

    Day 2 we searched west for bigger fish so we dropped in a few miles west of port to see water temps dropped pretty good. Just after we got the spread out and took our first fish the power steering pump started whining so we had to go back and get that situated (power steering line) headed back out after it got fixed even further west and finally found some good water about 6 miles west of port. Did only 8 or so salmon that day as we didn't really start fishing until 10am. Biggest was 18.

    Day 3

    Dropped in our waypoints and got right on the fish. We had 1 rod in the water for the first two hours as every time one went down it would fire. We felt good and we're ready to make a run at the leaderboard for the SS and WHI the next day. Big guy was 18 this day as well as we took many more mature fish than previous days.

    5/9 Tourney time! We were amped as we had about 10 good waypoints which took multiple fish all week. We got outside of the pack and sat down right at 28'w 110 fow. Dropped out spoon program that has slated them all week and.... Crickets. Worked inside to 75' as we took a lot of fish there as well... No screen. Looked out to see a boat hooked up outside and by the time we got out and figured out the fish blew outside of our waypoints by 40-50' it was almost too late. We ended up with 3 7lb Kings which weren't worth weighing.

    Took 9th in the salmon slam with a 16.69 lb avg over 7 fish.

    Even though it was a trying day I still wouldn't have passed it up for the world. Great time out there!! Congrats Rick and team for your 2nd place finish and Oh Baby for the win!

    Hot spoons all week were shoehorns warriors and moonshine mags.

    Next up- OOO!

    We stroked it yesterday too. All of our waypoints thorough the week got pushed out about 50'

    We were whacking em from 70-100 about 4-7 mile from the niagara and we sat back down in it yesterday and didn't move a rod. By the time we moved out it was too late as much of the bite died by 8-830

    We boated 3 kings at only 7lbs each

    Rigged splashdown weekend @ Sandy 4/25 /26

    Sat 25- got out on the water around 815 started inside regular program 2 slide divers/ 4 planers/ 4 riggers. We did 2 decent lakers 12 Browns 3 small kings and an Atlantic. 7-10 fow natural colors and red/yellow worked best. Stickbait bite was better than spoons. This was all in about 2.5 hours. Half way through this my brother decided to not have the lock on the net hoop and lost that overboard so we were stuck landing fish with a boga the rest of the day.

    After it slowed down we poked north to 50' to pick up a few Lakers and end the day with 20. Not even two minutes out there with rods down we doubled and went home.

    Sun 26- we were dying to catch a good king so we headed out to 20' end started NW. Not much later we were bringing lakers in left and right- biggest was around 10. We worked 30-60' from the pump house to watoma with lakers being the only takers. Went back inside as we saw some nice color and worked that back to the mouth. We did a bunch of browns and 3 coho (1 was about 5 lbs)

    Boat is running great and she will be all ready for next weekend through WHI!

    Pipe bending for radar arch?

    I need a few 90* bends in 2"ID 2 3/8od aluminum 6063 pipe. I am looking for a contact if anyone has an idea around the Rochester area I would appreciate it. I've been looking for weeks and would rather not cut and weld.

    Bottom paint help

    Since I'm a do it yourselfer I said screw it- can't be that hard.

    Doing some gel coat patching on the hull from some small chips and dings then painting the thing. I've started to sand the hull but had a question-

    How far do you need to go? My old paint is not chipping or flaking- do I need to sand to gel? Can I scuff it down and let it rip?

    What is the best way to apply on a trailer? Any tricks? I was gonna roll it back and paint all I could- let it dry then bring it forward and patch the roller spots.

    Any info helps! Thanks as always guys!
