  4. I'm with you Jeremy on the commander however it was more than the Lund Sport Angler I bought in August. The other one I was looking at was the Smoker Craft Phantom. That was sweet but more than I wanted to spend. My last boat was the starcraft superfisherman 196 and I like the Lund better. It is equipt with a 150 merc 4 stroke which is amazing.

  5. Prof T....I already pulled the trigger on a new lund sport angler equipt with a 150 merc 4 stroke. My prior set up was 1992 starcraft super fisherman 190 with 2007 115 optimax. I will never go back to 2 stroke. When prop match is correct it can't be beat.

  6. Well I bit the bullet and bought "NEW" and now am selling my Starcraft. Excellent starter boat or for anyone on a budget. The Superfisherman comes equipped with big tired roller trailer, full canvas and enclosure, 4 seat system, live well, lockable storage, fully adjustable rod holders, ship to shore radio, stereo radio, Lowrance GPS and Fish finder, dual battery system. Also with an adjustable trolling motor bracket.

Powered by 2007 115 hp Optimax DI (note:picture shows 92 motor). Down riggers and 9.8 kicker motor and linkage not included. Located in Cattaragus County. $7900 or best offer.  seven 1 6 - three 5 three - 5 five 4 eight.post-151891-0-18245200-1472601703_thumb.jpgpost-151891-0-93040600-1472601826_thumb.jpgpost-151891-0-04096600-1472601873_thumb.jpgpost-151891-0-09842700-1472601937_thumb.jpgpost-151891-0-90792300-1472601996_thumb.jpgpost-151891-0-72122500-1472602045_thumb.jpgpost-151891-0-68993300-1472602129_thumb.jpgpost-151891-0-57539000-1472602175_thumb.jpg

  7. Thanks MCF,

It is hull rivets. I want good solid work, somebody in our region who is boat oriented and understands hull issues. There seems to be maybe a half a dozen questionable rivets that may be contributing to some leakeage. Then I would like a new paint job. I am not sure if the local collision shop would be interested.

Also, Bozeman Bob I don't want to travel out side of maybe 75 miles of Buffalo.

    Please, more advisement

  8. I am up in the air concerning the idea of buying a new boat or trying to "tighten up" my aluminum fishing boat that I love. I fished with this old friend for many moons and on many excursions to big lakes and small lakes and various rivers. She's been good. she has been re-powered recently. She has not let me down in bad water.

I'm noticing some loose rivets on the bottom of the hull and she could use a paint job. I want some new electronics and electric trolling equipment.

Anyone out there with some discussion points?

  9. Frogger,

You should not be disappointed. Remember that ethanol gas is not it's friend and the people who sell them are your friend (they know their product). Just as a side note. I am a fresh water guy and when I visited Maine's coast I went to a shop where Tohatsu was featured and was able to verify that the same motor I use for fresh water is also used in salt water. It's that good.

  10. Frogger,

I have had my 9.8 Tohatsu new since 2009. It is dependable, super efficient and basically wonderful. I use it as a kicker on my 190 Starcraft Superfisherman. It acts as a second motor as well as my troller. I also use it on my 13 ft Meyers for Hemlock lake and others where small craft are the limit. In the past 20 years I have had or been partners in many 2 strokes and 4 strokes. For my money the Tohatsu is the only one I will have. I believe this bad boy will out last me. Mine is not electric start so I can't comment on charging. It's basically a 1 pull machine and has been since 2009.

  11. I started like you. Found the SFM i wanted and learned with it. I have a 1992 version that I have been upgrading. It now has been re-powered with Merc optimax added new canvas etc. I am going to buy new this time. I have pictures if your interested call (seven 1 six - 3 five 3 - 5 five 4 eight) I can email info and pics.
