  1. He was one of a kind. Met him the first year Lake Ontario's fish returned, but actually in Michigan and we bonded real well and became close friends until he passed. Quite the fisherman..No one could say he didn't get excited though lol.
  2. I know thaT, but Bernie bought the company from someone as well...and the old Millers go back. just for interest https://www.hemlockandcanadicelakes.com/hcl_business_springwater_miller_lure_company.htm
  3. looks like one of my favourite...Hooksters?
  4. Be nice if you did a Fort Erie delivery
  5. I don't know if you boys know how lucky you are with that strain of brown. Your Fish&Wildlife has developed a pretty damn good strain for the south shore. On the Canuck side our brood stock are obtained from a strain of 'small' stream genetics... very seldom changed or updated and very little fish caught. Our's are also stocked along the wrong spots on our side of the lake. Again, I tip my hat to your officials. In my opinion they are doing a pretty damn good job, and a tough job at that.
  6. Minnownite...I just moved to Buckhorn from Fort Erie / Point Abino and might be looking for a place to keep the Mako down your way next winter... Hell, I may even being moving again myself down to Norfolk/Dover 705-657-9753 ... your location is really ideal for Erie and Ontario. Please keep me in mind [email protected]
  7. No CL, just the straight 6500 and again between say 1970 and probably before 80... They had no plastic on the back or top bars as a thumb bar or finger protector, each is totally flat with no curvature, and the handles on the reel are not oversized and evenly spaced on the screw down. Simple but neat and there must be thousands of the darn things collecting cobwebs in garage corners everywhere. I believe and could be wrong they sold for around 75 to 100 bucks back then, but what a little workhorse
  8. Hi guys, I'm looking to purchase a pair of the original 70's - 80's Abu Garcia round 6500 level wind reels. These are all steel with the push button drag release on the top of of the reel, not the thumb bar style. All silver or plated. Smaller than the 700 series used by the charter guys in the old early days of the fishery. Again, thank you Cronzy
