Thanks!
Sounds like WD-40 is the way to go

I inherited some older NK's from my brother, some of the silver backs are pretty dull. I am sure this has been asked and answered a bunch of times but what can be used to get the shine back? They also have a rust smell to them due to the split rings rusting up, is there anything to get rid of the smell?
Thanks in advance

we have fished more on the east side of the north end. we killed them there last year, now can't get one...weird.
gambler, are you fishing in the crowd in the middle of the north end?

I agree on the pike bite. We have now been out twice without a flag.

Sk8man-
Is that when you are flat lining or running off of boards or both?

I just read Keating's 'Trolling for Trout & Salmon' book and when trolling stick baits off boards, he uses bead chain sinkers from where he runs his leaders to the stick bait. Does everyone do this? I didn't last year and we didn't pull a brown off our boards when trolling in the spring, wondering if that was the issue. I figured the stick baits we run (Smithwicks & Thunder sticks) would dive on their own.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks!

since they slide up and down the line to a certain stopping point, how do you let out the appropriate leader length and then still manage to 'lock' it in place to run? seems like you need two people to set a rod but I must be not visioning it clearly?

I haven't heard for sure if there is a bait shop at the North end of Conesus. Looking to buy pike bait.
Thanks for any info in advance!

if you don't mind me asking, what body of water are you hunting?
-
i think alot of nice bucks will be taken, they seem to be all on their feet. wonder if full moon will mean better mid day hunting.

Finally after seeing bucks chasing does away from me, I saw a doe coming my way and heard a grunt. I spotted this buck making a scrape. I hit 'the can' call and he came in on a string to 15 yards broadside. Perfect shot behind the shoulder, and heard him crash 50 yards away. Gotta love the rut in November!

Sk8man, would you use color though on Sutton's that are half chrome, half brass though? That really was my question whether that combo does better as is.

Went out this morning and fished with Eruprecht out in the lake in front of the river. Did a J-plug program until 9:30. Went 1 for 2 getting a nice 24# hen first thing with a glow green. Fished 10-15' down in around 28 fow. Didn't see alot of guys hooked up. Some fish jumping though.
Wonder if we should have went up the river....
