I find it hard to see the lake rise and fall 2 or 3 feet in such a short time that is a big body of water, crazy pictures be safe out there .

Lake storms and high winds can and will make lake Ontario have storm surges which will make the water change levels like that.

  2. As for clips to be used as a snap weight the ones from off shore tackle have a pin in the center so the fish can't shake the weight off the line.   A regular release wouldn't have that pin in the center.

Guys, and gals. I was out on Chaumont bay today. I gotta tell ya, be careful out there. There is so much crap floating, bobbing and suspended out there it is scary. I backed the throttle all way off and idled around. I know everyone is excited to chase eyes, but this high water is floating everything off the shores, and the variable winds are taking it every which way. I saw a METAL pipe sticking out of the water today where it shouldn't be. I saw a tire bobbing around. I saw a log big enough to take your lower unit off if you were on plane. The guy pumping gas into to my boat spoke about complaints of a dock floating free. This opener will see some stranded boaters if we are not careful out there. Be careful out there this weekend.

Guess that gives a new meaning to combat fishing. :)

I am sure some where around Chaumont is about where I will be headed.  Just need to drive there first.

  4. I have been hung up in that area twice. It is in 206ft of water. First time a dipsy was caught causing us to break the wire and losing everything. The second time a downrigger was hung up down 80ft. Lost the ball and attachments and almost the downrigger. I have the spot marked on my graph and no longer go in that area. Lost the dipsy 3 yrs ago and lost the downrigger ball 2 years ago. There is something definitely there.
