  1. Hey guys. Putting a 9.9 Honda 4 stroke on my 1995 19ft Lowe this year with a Panther 4 stroke bracket. The motor weights 98lbs and the bracket is rated for 130lbs.

The first thing I read in the instructions was to never trailer with the motor on the bracket. This never crossed my mind when buying the bracket and can’t believe guys take off a 100lb 4 stroke motor every time they trailer.

So my question is to guys with brackets… do you actually take your motor off when trailering? Thanks!

Lety me check my garage later today but that looks exactly what I had on my boat before last year when I got a Captain's rocket launcher from a charter boat Captain who was hanging his had up. I actually broke the big black real that the line goes on with fiberglass (cloth and resin) and mine is o  a 6foot mast plus another 12-16 inches because it is mounted on a seat pedestal.

I will get back to you later this afternoon/evening. I was kind of hoping to fine a new reel and seklk

    Awesome! Thanks!

  3. I just got my Smith Backdrops with the polarchromic glass lenses. I definitely don't think the copper will be too dark. When I first tried them on, I was not annoyed by the fact that I was wearing sunglasses inside, yet when I went outside they were super clear and offered enough tint. The change in tint was not noticeable. While driving in the afternoon low sun, they handled the glare remarkably well. The sides are sturdy and sprung to keep them on well. Overall, very nice so far.

How much effect do you think the mirrored finish is having?

  4. Does anyone have an opinion on Amber vs copper. I fish all day and in all conditions from overcast to very sunny and want the best overall tint. I'm concerned the Amber may not be dark enough in very bright conditions and that the copper will be to dark in low light conditions.

  5. Yeah. Same lenses. Amber polarchromic/polarized. The website is not 100% clear about whether the 'chromics are polarized too. I called them, and they are.

Are you at all concerned that the Amber may not be dark enough when in very sunny conditions?
