  1. Has anyone any experiences good bad or indifferent with the self leveling trim tabs. Naticus makes some there are other brands also. Not brand oriented unless 1 is way better than the other but looking for something to help my 21 ft Thompson get up on a plane. Thanks

  2. Not to argue but they let right away if the so desire they can dug it up and put all the utilities underground and there is nothing that anyone can do. They could also dig it up and put about he utility like say natural gas under ground nothing can be done. Drive around there are hacked up trees all over. They are not interested in esthetics esthetics don't keep them from coming back at 2am because the tree took down the lines. I'm not defending the company that did this in any way. I think that there is a lot of things they do that are just down right wrong. But time is money wam bam thank you mam and on to the next one. Like I said he should be happy they didn't leave the brush in the right away. And if I was to bet if he finds out the size of the right away the wood wa probably left in the right away too. Like I said it isn't right but it is the way it is

  3. I don't want to burst your bubble but you probably are not going to get anywhere with the company. I've been involved with the tree care business for a long time and owned my own business for 10 years. The utility company owns the right away and they have only 1 goal in mind and that is risk reduction of there utility's. Any part of the tree that is in the right away they can cut and usually will cut they are not interested in ethstetics more do they care if you are happy with how the tree looks. They won't cut the rest of the tree on there dime because it is not there responsibility I agree with all of the statements you have made but in reality they won't come back and fix it. The right away is from the ground to infinity and if they are in there right away the haven't done anything wrong. Be thankful that they removed the brush. The utility company in my area if the limbs and brush aren't roadside they will leave it in the right away. I have had to clean many yards up after the utility company's have gone threw. Like I said it's all risk reduction and they want to protect the utility's.

  4. Launched out of Myers about 830 for the First trip of the year. As prommissed to those that gave me some tips this report will be vague. But that seemed to be how the whole trip for me was anyway. I started a little a little sout of t falls and set up shop in the 100 to 140 range. Fishing the top 40 ft of water trolling north trolled this program with flasher flies and normal purple and white spoons all the way up to the boy scout camp didn't move a rod and didn't Mark all that much on the fish finder. At this point we moved out in to the middle of the lake. Dropped divers down to 240 and left riggers high. In 400 ft of water between boy scout camp and AES the first dipsy fired with a nice lake brought to the boat. Nothing marked on the fish finder. Decided to try and circle back threw the same area and see if I could find fish and bait but nothing there. I marked bait balls in the top part of he water 30 to 40 ft but never marked any sizable fish with them. Anyway let fishing north bouncing between 200 and 400 ft of water and picked up a few extra Lakers that way. The only consistency for the day was Lakers were hitting flasher flies down in the 80 ft range over a whole slew of different depths. Finished the day at about 430 between Shaldreke and long point. Went 7 for 11 all Lakers. 2 fish lost shortly after hitting and one big fish that broke off about 100 ft behind the boat. Not a stellar day but a good day none the less. Good luck to all those in the derby this weekend. I hope I didn't give to many secrets out to those that gave me tips I appreciated the help. 20170706_113914.jpg20170706_143636.jpg

  5. I understand your points just trying to use what I already have. The motor right now sits on a older mirror craft that is not much more than a row boat and will troll all day without loading up. I want to keep motor because I will use that boat in smaller water. Like I said before I know it's not perfect but financially a new 15 to 20 hp is out of the question. I thought if I could troll with the little boat at around 2 mph at a idle I should actually be working the motor a little harder on a bigger boat wich in theory should be better for the 2 stroke. As far as brackets go was going to fabricate them my self. I don't know just like the idea of having the second motor for the just incase times and also save the hours on the main motor. Thank you for your response just don't know what the best options are. The main motor I have a trolling plate on and also have bags but the insurance of having a second means of propulsion is a good idea.

  6. Use as a trolling motor. Or as a back up in case of main motor failure. I know it isn't ideal for size but it is also free. Use it on a smaller boat that I don't use much anymore but want to keep. Doesn't take me long to switch it back to the other boat if the need arises. Kind of I swing what I have on hand at this time.

  7. I'm in the process of rebuilding a 21 ft Thompson boat. I have completely gutted interior and rebuilt everything. Boat has a 305 under the dog house which I use for both trolling and motoring. My next step is to build a new swim platform on the boat and would like to put a kicker center ship off the swim platform. I see a lot of boats running 15 hp or 20hp kickers. I have a mint 35 hp Johnson that has been rebuilt to almost new. It's from the early 80s. My question is this over kill for the boat. It's a 2 stroke and it's my understanding that this motor weight is not much compared to some of the bigger 4 stroke kickers guys are running now. Thanks in advance for any feed back.
