  1. Had a bad reaction between my base coat and top coat yesterday. Back to the drawing board. Looked fine when I sprayed it, but was pretty disappointed when I checked them this morning. The top coat raised the base coat and I could scratch it off with my finger nail. Trying some new combos today. I really like the powders but I can't get the detail that the air brush offers. Trial and error. Thats how you learn right.? Thanks for the info from everyone. I'll keep trying. Winter project. Lol. Sent from my SCH-I435 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Thanks for the info. I'm trying the enamel. Not impressed with the fumes. Picked up some water based to try this weekend. Also messing with the powders. Not sure if I need a base coat. Sprayed soke lures and its taking multiple coats to cover the lure. Trying the dip method next for hopefully a better coat. The powders definitely produce a nice finish. 3. Looks great! Just getting a few of the basics to get started myself. Not sure what to invest in. I like working with the powders but not sure if acrylic paints or enamel? Sent from my SCH-I435 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. I'm getting set up to start painting some spoons and was wondering if I should use enamel or acrylic paint and what to clear coat with. Any suggestions? Sent from my SCH-I435 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Definitely love what the uv tape. Makes a pretty lure. Sent from my SCH-I435 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. When are uv lures most effective? I see that there is a uv index on my weather app. Would a high or low uv index have an effect on uv lures? I understand color combos for different water columns and have now incorporated uv lures into my program, but haven't taken note of what the effect of the uv index has been on the lures has anyone else? 7. How do you like the braid? I have two spare riggers I was thinking about changing over. Use them for browns in tight and for spooky fish up top. Sent from my SCH-I435 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Do you still have the manual that came with your unit? In there they tell uou how to test your current. The boat has to be in the water while you do the test. uou may need to Upgrade your meter to accommodate the function you will need. I would get one so that you can do the test a couple of times a season. The next thing is, I'm not an expert but I don't think that the bix will work on anything other than straight cable, stainless or wire. I think that the box uses the conductive elements of the cable. Coated or braid may not give you the results your looking for. Have you tried opening up your leads? Stretching things out a bit. Maybe its the rigger presentation??? I'm sure you have tried everything. It definitely gets frustrating. Blank screens are killing me! Good luck with everything! Sorry if I didn't help you. 9. Just got my captains license this winter and was hoping to run some trips next year. I fish off a 19.5 lund which doesn't have much room for customers. I know she will handle some tough weather but was looking for a larger boat. Hoping to find something that I can still trailer back and forth. Seems like a nice boat. 10. I looked at a 26 ft. Penn yan sea hawk and it was a flush deck with an i/o. Didn't know if they did that with other models. Looking at different models for a starter boat. Fan of the penn yans. Sent from my SCH-I435 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Only one pic came through of your boat for me. It there a dog house motor cover in the back? Sent from my SCH-I435 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. We have ran a sub troll with a black box. Didn't have issues with that but the cannon auto stops fail with the black nox on. Sent from my SCH-I435 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Worth the trip. Wouldn't suggest the state park on a weekend. The place was packed. We left to find a more secluded area. From the boat launch we countrd 79 shantys at 8:00 a.m. Not counting the people who weren't using them. Sent from my SCH-I435 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. Took my father and the little man out on the ice of Keuka lake this morning with hopes of catching there first lakers. Mission accomplished! Drilled the first hole to check the depth and immediately had fish and bait on the screen. Teddy was overwhelmed with excitement. We set up the shanty and dropped a line. Took some work to get the first one hooked up. The drag was ripping and the ultra light was bent. I handed the rod over to the little man and let him work it in. Laughing and giggling with excitement we got it through the hole. After that it was all up to him to get the next ones. And he did. 4 more to fill his limit. Definitely a great day to remember! 15. I fished out in front of the state park today. Lots of people out there with us. Hot bite first thing in the morning. Tons of bait with lots of fish under the pods. Died off for me after 8:30. Had to realy work them to get a bite after that. 4-5 inches of ice. Stayed on em till the wind drove us off. Still had bites after 11:00. Going back after them tomorrow. 17. Like everyone else will tell you, Oneida is a tough lake to figure out. Get a flasher or a graph. If not finikeye walleyes are almost inposible to catch. As you will see on your graph they chase the lure and its up to your jigging skills to intice them to hit it. Lots of great suggestions and info in this po Sent from my SCH-I435 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Sounds like a plan! Just got home from taking my captains course. Big test Thursday. We will see how it plays out. Won't make it back to Oneida till Friday. I will be sure to post pics and results if I'm lucky enough to catch some eyes. Good luck guys, stack em up. Sent from my SCH-I435 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  22. Same deal with me. 2 holes, than I have 2 rigged rods. One for a rap and the other is rigged with a pimp or jigging spoon. When I get a chaser I throw the other rig down to see if will induce a strike. Friday my best luck was with the raps. Same as the guys I fished with. One guy had luck with the clown colored rap and the other used a black and gold. Glow got the most chases for me. Not pimps, at least Friday. 23. Fished Oneida lake leaving from Cleveland yesterday looking for some walleyes but came up short. Literally with 2 shorts and one keeper that was an inch over the limit. Had a few chasers but had problems getting them to commit. The lure that seemed to work best was a #4 white glow rap 5 foot off the bottom in 27 feet of water. If I had better luck I could have told you more. Sent from my SCH-I435 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Thank you. Check it out tonight. Didn't know if lou did post. Sent from my SCH-I435 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
