  1. Fish east towards Webster and another banner morning. 17 for 20 with 4 small squirt kings and the rest browns. Some good size 4 went over 8 lbs. and many 5 to 6 lbs. 3 hours was spent not catching fish after the wind and lake kicked up pretty snotty....final we headed back east and put 5 more in the boat in less than 20 minutes before we pulled the plug. Down rigger bite was 2 to 1 over planer boards today, Fire Tiger bomber on boards and Alpena Diamonds on the riggers

Only bad part of the day was feeding a rod and reel to the lake , planer line got caught on the rod and away it went

  2. I love the AO's Clippers but had a hell of a time yesterday getting them down and staying down the line in the wind and rain. This thread is perfect timing and I just got done sleeving two dozen releases. Can't wait to get out on the lake and try them. Noticeable difference in weight should really help them get down the line and not blow back. I only run rubber bands when pulling coppers. I found the shock absorber of the bands helps with false releases on the heavy coppers when trolling in waves. attachicon.gifImageUploadedByLake Ontario United1398289710.036094.jpg

  3. This way works also

I didn't make them up the came with the planer boards I purchased from someone

One problem I had with the releases stock was on a windy day or if board goes dead on a fast turn your mono line from your rod can get hung up in the slot you use to clip the release into the planer board line

This gentleman cut that part if the release right off

I have some hex head nuts in my hand right now that I'm going to add with a press fit for added weight

  4. These are what I use and put them through the hexagon hole Rick has the nut and bolt through. Drill the hole a little bigger, press in, and I flare the end. Takes about a minute per release. Probably don't need to flare them but I do.

  6. Wow, it's fishing ...for some it's a business for others it's a passion and fun but this isn't the deadliest catch!

I enjoy every part of the season, spring brown fishing is great, then steelhead and lakers till the kings go on the bite

We need to stand together as a group not quibble over minusha.

It's a fishing derby that costs $30 to enter,if you don't like the rules keep your cash in your pocket and don't enter.

It's the thrill of the chase more so than winning any ways

Good luck and have fun !

  7. I do think it is a good one for Great Lakes fishing,I only have one day behind it but am happy with features and function.

Garmin customer service is also some thing that impressed me. That's as much as I can say to this point ...so far so good and I'm quiet pleased with my chose of the 50 DV
