  1. Ended with two eaters. Was slow. Thanks for the tip Muskie I didn't see it until now! Caught both off the same purple and black willow bladed harness run off a downrigger at 45-50ft down over 54ft of water. Cleaned a bunch of stick baits and harnesses. Still a great day.

  2. Couple weeks ago took three small lakers. All came on dipsey towing green atomic fly behind a green flasher at 2.3-2.5 surface speed. Most fish were between 25-70 over 140-150 feet of water. Again that was a couple weeks ago.

  3. Sbh is pretty quiet at 530a as well. It's noon that seems to be the issue! Lol. Not sure on the fish finder, recently went fishing on a buddies boat who had a color finder which held the arcs while the fish id was on. That thing was miles superior to my Pirahnamax180 tri-beam. Many people have told me that a fish finder isn't that important. After the experience on my buddies boat I am not so sure!

  5. Hopefully the message wasn't lost on him musky. I must have just missed it as we were in line around that time. The DEC had a nice three car gaggle blocking the retrieval ramp while I was trying to get my truck down to pull out the boat, must have been discussing something important. The shuttle was no where to be found. Just seemed like everything that could happen to slow it down did. I am no expert by any means but even out on the water courtesy was no where to be found. While we where out a guys treating the trollers like highway cones on a test track nearly went through my spread and then cut within 5ft in front of me. You know its crazy when your five year old daughter yells "what are you doing?" Still a blast but all uncommon sense was out the window Sunday.

  6. Had an opportunity to fish kueka this morning with my rods but a buddies boat. Went 3/4. Never had fished keuka before. Ran a spin doctor nbk, a green flasher green fly and a green flasher white purple fly all took hits run off dipsies. Fish were between 145 and 155 Fow. And down 50 thru bottom. Finding them was no problem, lots off marks on the screen. What is a good size laker for kueka?

  7. Washed some lures but then hit a small eye off a 40 jet and pink/purple worm harness running plastic worms as the bait shop apparently hasn't been open for a few days. Took a 20in eater off that rod a hour or so later. At around 11 we took a 9lb'er on a tiger patter deep diver rapala 100 back from a inline board 50 off. Three fish three different locations wind mills, buoy and south gap. All were around 40-42ft of water. My dad and daughter landed the eyes. Myself I took a sheep head! Tight lines all. post-153876-14034602737925_thumb.jpg

  8. Welcome home!  I came back about 4 years ago and got a boat, fixed er up and began figuring it out as well.  This site is a great resource, I mostly fish erie as I am in the Buffalo area but head up to Wilson for kings a least a few times a year.  New York State also runs a fishing hotline which generally has good info and recommendations.  I dont know much about the areas you are looking at, but time on the water and talking to fellow fishermen will get you where you want to be.  Absent that, take your kids with and let them chose the set-up, both of my daughters chosen set-ups (aged 3 and 5) out fish my choices 3 to 1.   Tight lines.

  9. Who drives when you are setting lines? Who nets when you are driving? We have list fish to bad driving, bad netting and bad reeling. I am a noobie, and admittedly not very talented however if everyone doesn't contribute nothing gets to the boat. Team effort for sure and the bickering is priceless!
