  1. Went Tuesday night off the windmills. due to forecast Wednesday. Got one on a black and silver rapala 100 back on a planer board. Also got a mixed bag of bass, white bass, and a 6lb sheepshead. Not the day we were hoping for, kicker motor quit on us which ended the evening early. Best of luck out there.

  3. Went out from sbh today. Hit the north middle and south gap. Some bass action at the south gap. Kids had to use the restroom so we headed in. Caught a nice 30" northern inside the harbor and several nice bass. Best fishing was there by a mile inside the harbor. Not suppose to be fishing in there however every fisherman with a slip was casting of his docked boat! Great to be out on the water again. Tight lines all.

  4. American- honey, you can launch from sbh. Use the docks by dugs dive, there isn't any services like security or fish cleaning station until they open.

The NFTA has blocked both access roads to the launch and retrieval docks (they are not permitting anyone to launch currently).  I called them today and they said they will be open 5/15 but are hoping to be open earlier.  The majority of the ice boom is still in and they are just opening sections to let the ice flow in a controlled fashion, allegedly they have found ice 3ft think in places against the boom.  The wind has pushed a lot of ice into the SBH and some has even entered the marina.  I would keep an eye on things before you make the ride.

  5. Never heard of it prior to last season.  Had a few bananas onboard a spring charter, things were very quiet, in the process on getting rid of the bananas a peel was sent overboard and guess what?  it grabbed the rigger wire and rode it all the way down!  Once that was cleared and the bananas were gone, non-stop action. Similiar experience on my boat,  guess I'm a believer now.

  6. Barbie poles......Best day I ever had fishing was watching my 4yo daughter cast from shore with her pink Disney Princess pole (single split shot, bobber, and trout worm), in Lake Erie and out fish 2 A$$###es in a new ranger bass boat who couldnt help themselves from using their bow mounted trolling motor to get so close she could cast onto the boat. Their presence was irrelevant, as she caught a smallie every cast while throwing rocks in the water and those fine examples of human beings got blanked.  Karma is.....well karma.  Great teaching moment when your 4yo asks "Pappa if they are on their boat why do they have to get so close to us, we dont do that on our boat?", no sweetheart we dont........here grab this bass by the lip, hold it up and show them so they can see.......

    I respect those poles.........
