  1. On the subject of muzzle loaders CVA has a recall on there new rifle the crossfire WITH cerckot nitirde barrels. Not sure if its ALL or SOME of that model gun. from what they said the weld could brake at the luge and the barrels could fall off.
  2. Legacy, I have the same muzzleloader and had the same results. I went through $100s in powder and bullets in every combo with the same results as you I even put a different scope on it made sure every thing was tight and nothing changed. My Thompson pro hunter shoots 1 inch groups at 100 yards. I am interested in what CVA has to say with your gun when you send it back, maybe a bad run of guns who knows. I have been trying for a long time to get this thing to shoot and like you just gave up on it. I do agree what most people say about powerbelts and expansion being not good. by the why CVA and Powerbelt are owned by the same company so no surprise CVA would push powerbelt. When and if you get an answer let us know
  3. Keep the videos coming Rick lots of great info. And wish you all the luck with the new boat she is beautiful.
  4. I use them, BUT sometimes they work and some times they don't. at times I have had adult deer come in down wind and and never know I was there walk right under the stand and never spook. THEN you got the one that comes in and smells the ozonics and looks right up at you with that with the hell look and takes off but didnt blow just got out of dodge. AND THEN theres the ones that smell something from 40 yards off and just book. So the answer is they work SOMETIMES. thats a lot of money for a sometimes, I think your better off if you can just hunt the wind. We did have great success with them in a ground blind we had deer walk 3 feet from the blind and never know we where there. As far as noise they have a small fan that you can hear very faintly but not loud enough to spook anything.
  5. It was working a weeks ago use it a lot to check lake conditions. hope they get it going
  6. So sorry for your loss Nick.
  7. Don't rule out StarCraft great boats great ride.
  8. Irg you are right that 90 threads into that nut on the tank, the 90 is what needs to get freed up when I looked on line a guy used a mix of acid tone and transmission fluid put it around the fitting and let it sit for a day and that loosened it up. I used CLR on mine as I recall just on the outside of the 90 where it threads into the nut. when you do get it out measure the tub so you can cut the new one to the right length.
  9. Irg, I did mine a few years back and that 90 degree fitting has a check ball in it. as I recall it was by law had to be there so gas could not siphon back into the bilge when the boat was sitting more so on I/Os where the motor can sit lower then the tank. The check ball on them are prone to getting gummed up and sticking closed try spraying some carburetor cleaner and a little WD40 it to it to free it up. as far as getting it off good luck they can be a bear some times being aluminum and corrosion.
  10. Thanks Trouthunter, we where just discussing this on The Lake Erie United sight, look under closing of sturgeon point marina. We could all work together on this maybe we could get things changed.
  11. Legacy, How old is your powder I had all most the same thing happen at the range. firsts shot 2 inch high second shot right in center 3 shoot 10 inch left. cleaned the gun shoot 3 more with the same kind of results. I talked with a guy that is in to muzzle loaders and said to try new fresh powder mine was 1 year old and that fixed the problem. dead on at 100 yards, I would have thought it was the scope for sure. just a thought good luck.
  12. I know a lot of you guys live more in the Rochester area but if you have a Merc take a look at Bow and Stern Marine in North Tonawanda on River rd. Paul,Tim and Chris are some of the best people in the world and will go way out of there way to help you. Chris is one of if not the best Merc tec around. they get very busy in spring all the way through summer so book ahead for service if you can. Paul is a very good walleye fisherman and can answer a lot of questions on boat rigging for trolling. If your not happy with your dealer check them out, i have bought many boats and motors from them and use them for service. they are top shelf in every way.
  13. WHAT THEY ALL SAID, GO WITH TROLLING BAGS. BAGS CAN ALSO HELP WITH STABILITY OF YOUR BOAT IN RUFF SEAS.
  14. I have a winchester xs3 20 ga. that I hunt pheasants with and love the gun for its weight and recoil.
