Fish the marks don’t get hung up on Temp. A rigger parked between 20-40ft accounts for a lot of our steelhead. A lot of those high marks you see on your graph are steelhead. 7 LC will take many also.

I use 17#Stren.
This is what I use for my 25 ft tippet from my 30 # to the swivel. No problems at all
I use 8# vanish on my Crankbait spinning rod ,no problems .
I use the same 17# for the bait heads . It breaks just before or at the baithead .
4 breaks in 2 weekends and lost 3 bait heads . Never considered it might be A biteoff as I have had to ta ke the hook out of the throat of a few fish and maybe they use the head as leverage . No crimps .
I don't think it can take the shock in that
4 ft section .
I tie a Snell knot and yes, I take my time tying the knot . And wet it .
All I know is I fish a lot , more than most
And catch a lot of big fish on 4# mono .
When I use Flouro as tippet material . , I have problems .be it this , fly fishing tippet. Float / jig , or braid tippet for bass.
I rarely break off trolling .
I am going to try the Blue label and tie some 20# mono and compare .
Flouro all has the same properties , which are all documented in various tests .
Then why are none of us who have chimed in having the same issue ??

I hate it because it is brittle and breaks for no reason ,sometimes in the middle of the linewhere there are no knots .
Takes no abuse whatsoever . Broken a fair amount of flasher fly 50# leaders . That should never break .
Have used a lot of brands and they all seem to do the same thing . I like the Drennen for fly fishing / trib tipper but it is,overtested.
Has good qualities as it sinks and drags fly down when fly fishing . Or it is invisible under water.
Seaguar Fluorocarbon leader is pretty indestructible stuff. I’ve been using it for years in salt water and fresh water and have had no issues. And I’m sure most guys using it will tell you the same. Your either using an inferior brand or to light of leader.....
