  1. I've had them on my boat 3 years now and just this year I noticed they seemed to be a little sloppy around the swivel on the dual axis holders. Never any problems with the pins. I just took them apart and put a dab of high strength threadlocker on the bold that holds the swivel part together and they've seemed fine for the past 2 months. My guess is the constant vibration and swiveling loosened up the bolts a little but they never actually fell apart. They are hands down the best rod holder I've ever put on any of my boats even though the price is a little salty and hurts the wallet when you have 10 of them on the boat

I did the same thing and it worked as mentioned.

  2. I've had okay success with them. I've caught some big salmon with them, but they probably only take 10%  of the fish, if not less. Sometimes it's flies, spoons or real meat.

Anyhow, we always try them at least for some time ...

Size is important ... the larger ones seem to do better.
Color is MORE important. The one Bosun Cowboy shows is a great one. There's two similar ones, one is green with black dots and the other is the same silver as he shows with black dots.
Dalmation and frog patterns are go tos.

  3. I would also think the difference is the amount of Amperage the control unit is rated for. I know with the Raymarine EVO systems the bigger pumps can't be ran on the smaller control units because they will burn the up with the higher Amperage draw.

Either way OP I would be talking to Lowrance technical support to see what the rated Amperage is on the control unit and make sure your pump doesn't exceed it.
yes thanks. i do believe that is the trouble with the control units.

  4. I see on the shark web site that it suggest you don't use an attractor behind the sharks bc the shark acts as the attractor...and that if you run a spoon that it shouldn't be 30-40foot behind it...it should be fairly close....hmmmm....anyone have any feed back on this. .going to be running two of them this yr

i run paddles meat, on short leads on the deep rigger, flys and flashers and run spoons all different lead lengths depending on conditions.

catch fish on all of them. Use attractors and different leads with confidence.
