  3. God I love this forum... On this one post Ive learned like 4 new things!! Prosciutto wrapped sounds like a great idea.... Of course being Italian I could eat most anything with prosciutto and think it was heaven. The meat in front of the pectoral fin is something I have to check out too. Good stuff. 5. X2 Chas!! I though they would make good tip-up bait for northers during ice fishing season. Always wanted to try that.

  9. Perch fishing has changed on O.... But is on the up-swing from what I can see compared to the prior 2-3 years. [emoji1303][emoji1303][emoji1303]
  10. No question the Gobi impact nesting bass and egg survival rates and other fish reproductive success, as well. Prior to the Gobi, other aggressive species were considered a detriment to various fisheries such as the alewife. The truth is that our Lake O and SLR ecosystem is far more dynamic and resilient than we give it credit for. And any larger ecosystem for that matter. These things take some time to balance out but they do. My simple minded opinion is that abundant forage yields larger breeding fish which produces significantly greater egg production per fish which balances survival rates. Time will tell but that is my optimistic spin on our amazing natural resources. Tight lines to all!
  11. Nice report. I only ice fish black lake but it sure is a great fishery. Glad u were able to make the best of mediocre weather and get on some fish.
  12. Hahaha- point taken. I think they are pretty damn tasty. Smoked they are awesome. Again smaller ones are better. To your point BS Master there are better eating fish out there......but variety is the spice of life[emoji12]. I enjoy a Nice LT on occasion.
  13. Had one one on..... Lost it before it got to the boat..... Assumed it was an eye.... Only strike before weather turned.
  14. Size makes a difference from all that I have read..... I believe the DEC recommends eating LT 25" or less in size due to contaminates and bioaccumulation.
  15. I was on Chaumont bay Saturday night around 10pm walleye fishing.... Around 1130-12, In 15 minutes time, the wind came up so quickly you could hardly stand up in the boat. It was nasty! Out of the Nnw. Choppy ride back to the launch.
