  1. OK. Here is a Sodus report for you. And happy pie day. Launched next to Coast Guard station at 7:20am on 3/14/24. Turned west out of inlet set up boards about 1 mile west of inlet and trolled west. 9 rods, before we could get rod #2 set we had a small brown. From then on was a fairly steady pick, most were 1-2 pounds. A couple nice antlantics And 3or 4 browns in the 2-4 pounds and 1 maybe 6lbs. Had a few flurries of activity but mostly just steady up until noon when the wind started to shift from the west to the north. We stayed mostly in 15fow. At 1:30,,, water that we had earlier fished in was now gin clear. Between 12:30 and 1:30 we caught just one brown. saw water that was 43deg all rapala bite off boards except 1 on downrigger spoon. Absolutely a beautiful day on the water. Saw maybe 6 other boats 4 boat trailers in parking lot at 2pm
  2. Weather looks decent for the next few days. Anybody been out of Sodus yet?

  4. Asking $1,850! One owner Yamaha 9.9hp 4 Stroke, short shaft, tiller, manual start for sale. I bought this new in 2014. No issues, runs perfect. There is one blemish on this motor, a nasty little scratch on the rear of the cowling that was all my fault for not paying attention while backing my boat into my garage. The only reason I am selling is because my right shoulder just doesn’t have the strength it used to have. Even though the outboard usually starts on the first pull that first pull still hurts and while drifting the Susquehanna I typically start the motor 30 times in a day! I recently bought a 9.9 with electric start and have no need for this one any longer. There are a few dings on the prop, nothing serious. Annual maintenance of engine and lower unit oil, spark plugs, and fuel filter always done by me. outboard always stored in heated garage over winter. Runs great, no issues. Comes with a 3 gallon fuel tank and fuel line. Always ran non ethanol fuel. A new one will cost you close to $3,000 I am asking $1,850 OBO located near Mansfield PA
  5. Still for sale and still brand new!
  6. First day out for 2024. Launched out of Treman. Two of the launch ramps are closed as they appear to be rebuilding the lower portions of the docks. Plenty of water to launch and canal was clear of ice. Started In close looking for browns with boards and stick baits. Caught the biggest smallmouth that I have ever seen. Picked up a laker in close as well. Moved out into 100-120 fow after about two hours. Picked up about a dozen small lakers 90’ down. Great day on the water. Surface temp was 40.5 and down 90 was 40.5. Saw two other boats. Talked to one of them and they also caught small lakers and a couple 8” landlocked. Anybody been out of Sodus?
  7. I am looking for a Mercury 15hp or 9.9hp outboard. Must be: 4 stroke, electric start, and short shaft. If you have one that I might be interested in send me a private message. Let me know what you have and where you are located. thanks Frank
  8. If you thought about getting out on Cayuga on 12/16 but didn’t make it,,, you missed a beautiful day on the lake. This 10lb laker took a deep diver off a planer board in 190fow. Picked up 3 other lakers in 150fow and 70’ down on the riggers. Water temp stayed right around 44deg. My Lowrance has “glitched” like this one other time. Clearly I’m in 180fow but the depth shows 38.5. Trolling along with no issues and I saw the screen “blink” and the depth went blank and after a minute or so came up as 38.5. Shutdown and restart did not fix but after about 5 minutes or so the depth read correctly. Did this once before months ago. Any thoughts?
  9. Nobody needs this filter??? it’s less than half price guys!
  10. Yamaha 10 microm MAR-M10EL-00-00 fuel filter/water separator for 115 hp outboards and smaller. Brand new, still sealed in plastic. I bought this by mistake, my outboard is 200hp. $10 is a great deal. I live near Mansfield PA and travel to Elmira, Corning, and Williamsport often, OR Add $5 and I will ship it to you.
  11. Launched next to Arnies at 5:20am, pulled out at 1pm. 1). Last time we were at Sodus was 7/6/23 and the fleas were horrible. Today hardly noticed them. 2). I have not seen so many bait pods and marked so many fish this year,, until today. 3). Unfortunately we only went 3/5, all kings 5lb, 10lb, 12lb. 4). Most fish and bait I marked was in the 120-170fow, but we marked fish out to 200fow. 5). Temp down 80 hovered around 46. 6). No special color, all colors hit. Never got a hit on flasher/fly. Did not use meat. Now, look at the picture. I’ve had this happen occasionally but today it happened over and over again. Many,,, MANY fish would swoop in, look at my baits, and swim off. If those fish had bit I would have boated 30 fish. Comments? Also, anyone know of a video using copper with slide diver? I’m not doing something right and would like to fix it.
  12. Thanks for the report Pappy. There is a fair chance I will get up to Sodus on 7/20. I will post results. If anyone is up there today (7/19) I’d love to hear how you made out.
  13. All spoons. Purple with fluorescent green back was best
  14. Launched next to Arnies at 5:30am. Setup in 100fow straight out the inlet. First king on before I could get rod #3 set, 10lbs. In the next 2.5 hours we hooked 8 kings, boated 5. A 15, 14, 10, 8, and 6 pounder. The 3 that got away felt like nice, at least 10lb, fish. Had a triple. With 2 of us on the boat we only landed one. Never went past 175fow. Just kept going north and south between 100 and 175fow. How about this,,,, never took a hit while trolling South. All fish came when trolling North. Temp down 90 was 45deg. Riggers at 90,80,70,60. 90 did best. purple spoon with fluorescent green on back was at 90. About 9:30 the wind died and so did the bite for us. We did catch one at 10. Pulled out at 11am. At 11am water was flat calm.
  15. Launched out of Wright’s Landing at 6:30am. Set up in 90fow. First fish, a 2lb king, at 7:02. Had a decent pick up until 11am when the ESE wind died. Not a bite after the wind died. Best for us was 90’ down in 100 - 160fow. Purple was the color for us. No hits on the meat. . 90’ down was 45deg. Biggest was 12 lbs followed by a 10 and an 8,,, and 4 in the 1-3lb range. Pulled out at 1:45pm. Looks like same weather for tomorrow.
  16. Fishing Oswego on 6/21 and 6/22/23. Recent intel would be appreciated. I will be sure to post afterwards. thanks
  17. OUCH! SKUNKED! Launched at 6am, pulled out at noon. Absolutely beautiful weather, very light breeze, sunny. Covered water from 70 fow out to 200fow. Had several lookers check out my baits but never had a hit. OUCH! Never saw more than 4 other boats at a time. Riggers were from 100’ to 40, 10 color and 5 color leadcore and divers on the boards. Nontheless it was a great day to be on the water. OUCH!
  18. My first king of the season today as well. 15lbs, went right back in the lake. Oswego, calm wind, flat water, 100fow, 90’ down. Purple spin doc with a purple spoon. Water temp at 90’ was 42.5. Pretty much a blank screen.
  19. That seems like a pretty good reason. Thanks.
  20. I absolutely must ask “why do some fishermen remove the snap swivels from spin docks”? Years ago, as a new member, I bought a dozen spin docs posted in this forum and was surprised when they came in the mail and there were no snap swivels on the spin docs. By the time I bought the snap swivels I had enough money in the used ones that I could have bought new ones. There MUST be a reason for removing them. All of the new ones, that I have purchased, have a snap swivel on each end.
  21. Off limits between Memorial Day and Labor Day
  22. Ty let.woodward04; First sentence. Launched next to the CG station at 7:30 am. CG abbreviation for Coast Guard. It is located next to the inlet, on the west side. It is usable until Memorial Day. Best ramp with the best parking on Sodus Bay IMO.
