  1. Thanks for the response Zach. I'm gonna give it a try. It seems (without researching) smaller in diameter than other Seaguar fluorocarbon of the same pound test  and thus should be more flexible, which should give better action for the smaller baits use.

  2. Yesterday while on the way back from Albany crossing the I-86 bridge, I saw a boat pulling planer boards and thought how nice it would be to be fishing vs. still trucking and thought maybe I was messed up on the dates of the muskie opener. I got back home and checked the date and didn't miss it.   But have an option to run a load to Richmond on Saturday and took it

  3. Yes Adam I agree, I told them there is a few that don't like to wait for the musky season opener ( Witnessed this a year ago).  And that I was told by a non-resident, buying a NY license for fishing Chautauqua was not necessary for the Chautauqua Sheriff don't check licenses, that they just drive around the lake and watch the no wake zones and this person said " I have yet to see a DEC Officer here"

My NY license is a much better investment than my PA. license is !!

I too was very glad to see the DEC at Chautauqua and thanked them for what they do and for being there. I said that they should be here more often, they said they will.

  4. NY DEC

It was nice to see the DEC at Chautauqua today. I was checked while trolling and they did it without making me stop, which would not of been a big deal if they did. Very nice guys.  After checking my license I suggested they check a boat I noticed net a very small musky and did not see it put back. They ask the description of the boat and occupants, to which it would not be hard to find by the occupants description. The DEC spent a very long time at their boat. After that I did not see them fishing again.  When I docked at the launch to load my boat DEC returned and docked, I asked if my tip led to anything illegal ? They said multiple violations.  DEC said a lot of out of state (Non-Resident) without NY Licenses were issued citations. Glad to see DEC on Chautauqua. They even had two Officers on Jet-Skis. They said they would be there more often.

  5. Yeah Zach hope you heal up fast too. I usually start out around 0400 and fish till noon, constantly watching the water temperature, not worth losing a fish for, for sure. In 75+ I water measure, no pics, close enough for me. The lake before noon has much less boat traffic anyhow. What also amazes me is the amount of people swimming in the algae bloom water. I use hand sanitizer each time my paws touch the water or handle a fish. When I see people swimming a dog I politely tell them of the hazards of it.

  6. Tournament ???

Does anyone know if there is a tournament this weekend on Chautauqua ? I had my calendar marked as such, however can't find any information of one. I know the 69ers just had a tournament at Chautauqua the other week ( Never did hear any results ) Just wondering where to go for the weekend.

    Thanks in advance Cody !

  7. Storm Warning II:  Thanks for the advice. I will have to make a trip to Pymatuning.  Edinboro Lake is small however there musky ratio is high as per their most recent Biologist report. All I seem to catch so far there is subs which is better than getting skunked.

Toothyfishman : I hear you about the PFBC and PGC. not really a fan of them. I'm just searching for a PA. lake to hold me until NY season starts. H.P restrictions is good and bad depending on how you look at it. I will try Kinzua, at least as you say the scenery is good, it still better than working. I may try East Branch in Elk County Pennsylvania.

Zach: I didn't know there were still Hippies around...LOL.  Had one in my unit he was cool as could be and so down to earth nothing bothered him and we are still friends to this day and he is still a Hippie !

Ivan : Your advice is always helpful to me ! Thanks again !!

NY season can't get here soon enough !!
