Got out in front of port bay this a.m. headed deeper. Started at 150 . first 45 mins nothing so kept north at 200 wire goes, chrome/glow Spinny out 275 goes. Running pretty good then the rigger goes, doubled. Small 19'6 tracker only run 4 rods so room is tight. Let the boat fight the rigger fish a bit while I netted the first. Nice 15 lb chrome king. Somehow landed the second.24 lb king. Crazy.

After that nothing for another hour hheaded west towards sodus. Turned in to steer clear of a boat going north. 170 fow and that same dipseys goes and I mean almost goes overboard. Out 285 fish ends count at 802.. I figure no way are we gonna get him. Get to 400 and there he goes back to 700 lol. Some how landed him. A bit over 30 never got a lake king that big. Little dark but bait still in him. Trying to figure how ri post pics.

Anyway boxed out 3 matures. 3 round 10-12 lbs... Headed in at 11 so I can give this evening a few hours..

I'm thinking I didn't head out far enough tonight but didn't plan on being out more the 2 hours. Set up in 80 fow out of port bay. There is one hell of current out there for sure. First dipseys fires 180 ft out over 110 fow . wasnt a mature but a nice fish that came off pretty quick. Screen was decent between 110 and 125. Dropped another on a mag spoon. Headed west towards sodus screen went pretty blank circled back to were we had the 2. Again some marks no hits. Trolled all the way back to 60 fow before packing it in.

Skunked but beautiful out . lake was glass no boats.

I'm thinking first light I'll head to bout 120 and head deeper til we see signs of life.

In Bout an hour or so I'll be out there

Thanks again without knowing all the details. Most of the spoons I inherrited were nk's and a few others I'm not sure but I did test them in the water while running. And felt much better after I had hits on both riggers. I have been marking my box at the slowest speed on each spoon as I use them. Just started really trying to have some faith in spoons this season. I have only got 4 kings on spoons this season. That's 4 more then I ever have I'm trying to keep at least one out at all times. Not counting a cheater.

Thanks ! I sure did compress eyelets. I only run four rods. 5 if I'm feeling crazy... So I'm really really careful with it all. My chances are less as it is lol

Not much better after a day of fishing then a 20 inch king stuffed with lemon and garlic over the camp fire.....

I guess when there is evidence of fish populations being hurt by fishermen following the laws then they will change it.

Single hooks worked great. Didn't miss or lose anymore fish then I have on trebles. Was 3/3 one morning with singles on black/purple mag spoon. Thanks for the help!

There have been many years around mexico bay the kings were late and Lakers/browns got hammered on. The last few years we have been spoiled with kings from June on. I use to worry about the same with trout but they seem fine.

I'll be out from port bay Thursday til Sunday or Monday hopefully weather permits a few hours on the water.... Great report. Good action at least fish are spread out some still

You'd be surprised on how many of these 12 lb fish are gonna run the rivers this year. Late spring cold year = smaller kings. But it is a put and take fishery... I honestly like eating smaller fish....

Last night trolling into port bay Cuz I had a young guy with me... 150 foot lost a pig on the wire and dropped one on the rigger screen lit up for some reason in that spot go figure. Then 4 miles out a snake was swimming around lol
