  2. ok, I have had a lot of boats now, I have done a lot of research recently on all the boat manafactures out there for the 17-19 foot aluminum boats. Here is a quick run down of what I came up with.

Lund : great boats, big price tags

Crestliner: great boat, welded hull, good prices

tracker: I would stay away from them, they develop cracks when people abuse them, looked at a few and it is hit or miss

lowe: nice boat, only use one row of rivets at the transom were everyone else is using a two row offset pattern

starcraft: great boats, big price tags

    polarkraft: great boats, good prices

g3: good boat, I presonally did not like there set ups, numouos things were in the way of each other, seats hit the side when turned, hatch need seats moved to open......etc...

alumacraft good boat, high price tag

xpress: good boat, all aluminum floors, prices were resonable untill you added stuff like full windsheild, extra console, larger motor, etc......

    mirriorcraft: good boats resonable prices

I searched for 2 years looking at each one on the list. (I was looking for a used one) but I eventually choose to go new. and bought a polarkraft 179 frontier, I was looking for something I could bass fish with, troll for salmon on ontario, troll on erie for walleyes and still be able to take the kids out for some tubing and sking. I love my boat.

with that being said I would look for a used starcraft superfisherman or fish master, crestliner fish hawk or super hawk, or a 17-18ft lund or polarkraft

  3. just got a 9.8 tohatsu with electric start and trim, but it is a tiller. has anyone rewired the starter button and the trim so you can have it at the console. I got the tiller so I could remove it when I bass fish or tow the kids on the tube. I only use the kicker 5-6 times a year, but I don"t like leaning over the transom to make changes, plus I already have a speed controller up there.

  4. I have a starcraft superfisherman 170 with a 75hp mercury 2 stroke oil injected motor.

The motor runs good, the sides look good (some minor scraches and dents) has a swim platform, a rear live well, front storage, side rod lockers, and center rod locker ( side will hold 8ft + rods center will hold 7ft and 6.5ft), bimini top with front windows. 4 seats 6 base locations. front and rear casting deck. full windshild.

the boat has all new carpet (nautolex) and floors, has all new depth finders ( hummingbird 570 front 561 at dash) new trolling motor 55lb thrust minn kota v2 power drive. new front battery. all new tires including spare all new led lighting for front, center and back decks. front and rear storage and live well and all rod lockers, and new two bank charger.

I built this up last winter for myself to fish with I want a slightly larger boat for fishing and skiing

any questions please call me . thanks for looking SORRY NO TRADES
