  1. Jay Ve had a new owner as of last year sometime. In fact I don't think he even ran it for a year before closing very recently. He was a nice guy but that's a tough spot to run a bait shop. I live around the corner so I'd stop in here and there. Kinda sucks they are closed but I'm not surprised

  2. Keep throwing a wacky worm and you're sure to catch them twice as big. Can't go wrong with a senko but I do prefer to Texas rig and weight them despite what a lot of people say about going weightless.

  3. Selling my 6hp Johnson outboard. Motor is very clean and low hours, probably around 30. I was told it had 20 when I bought it.  I bought this off someone in July of this past summer and used it on a 12ft aluminum boat and it runs great. Bought a new boat so I just don't need it anymore. Runs great, needs nothing.

I will take pics and post them if there is interest.

    Asking $800

  4. Selling my portable Humminbird Fishin' Buddy 120c fish finder. I bought this in July, used it on my small 12' aluminum boat maybe 5 times before I ended up buying a new boat with all the bells and whistles. It seems to be pretty accurate and is good for a small aluminum fishing boat or kayak. Clamps onto anything with a C clamp mount which is included.

I paid about $170 for this and am asking $100 (cash only)

Message me on here if interested.

  5. Just got back last night from a week in Fair Haven and had 2 days to fish the bluff just coming out of little sodas bay, we were fishing the suggested 24 to 30 foot depth and on our first drift we hooked up with 5 large smallies, lost 2 big ones. (they popped the line), 2 more drifts and we caught 4 more.. we were drifting live shiner's.

Are you drop shotting the shiners? I fished a bit further east of those bluffs a couple weeks ago starting in about 23 FOW and drifting into 15 and boated about 7 smallies in a couple hours of assorted sizes, biggest in the 3lb range. I was using soft shells, first time using live bait in years since I've lately been an "artificial bait only" snob, and also the first time in probably 15 years fishing the lake. The drift was a bit fast but it seemed to produce just fine.

  6. I haven't fished for smallies in the lake in probably 15 years since I was a real youngin' but those were some of my fondest fishing memories. Fish after fish with a worm, hook and weight.

  7. Not sure if this is the right section to post this but I'm curious if anyone ever gets out fishing on Blind Sodus. I'm out that way every weekend in the summer but have yet to really give it a try. Mostly interested in bass fishing but I don't discriminate. Any info or stories would be appreciated. Private message me if necessary.
