I am thinking about getting a new boat this winter and am curious of what you guys like. I am looking for an 18’ aluminum deep v boat. I’ll be fishing finger lakes, the St Lawrence and would like to use it on lake O for salmon as well. I’m looking for your opinion on the best brand / value out there? I’ll say Lund is out of my price range, but I’ve been looking at crestliner and starcraft.

Any recommendations?

I am taking my nephew out fishing tonight, what is my best options to put him on fish? Browns? Lakers? I don’t do much summer trolling, usually just spring browns for me. Only have a 16’ boat, so going way out isn’t an option. I do have down riggers and such. Any advice and tips would be appreciated

Late to post but went out Monday around 3:00, fished for 3 hours or so. Trolled down to Webster park and back. Went 2/5 one broke off, should have checked my leaders. Picked up everything 10’ or so, chrome and goby patterns worked off the boards. Heading back west, was running 2.8 and picked up this one
