    I’m selling a 200 and 300 copper on Okuma GLT rods. I haven’t used them for 2 seasons and used maybe 15-20 times total for half a season. Running long lines just isn’t for me. Reels are the upgraded high-speed Convectors, with 50lb braid backing and Atomik copper. The rods are the Okuma GLT copper rods. $140 for the 200, $150 for the 300, or $275 for both. Pickup in Rochester area only. Thanks.

    I was out of Long Point the past 4 days for a few hours at a time from a cottage near there. Went long enough to keep my kids happy but not mutiny! Bright spoons seemed to work best- mixed veggies, watermelon, purple tux, etc. Mostly targeted rainbows and salmon. 5 color with various scorpion size spoons caught every day. Riggers at 22 & 33 also good. I don’t usually target lakers way down so but did see plenty of marks low. I don’t have down temp so not sure there. Surface temp was right at 60 yesterday. I’ll be back this weekend. Hit me up anytime. Happy to trade info while out. -Jeff

    Walker downriggers mount

    Hi Cessna,
    Yes, you’re correct that you can mount the swivel mount directly to the gunwale, like in my earlier picture. I have 3/4” plywood running the length on each side and they’ve worked great with no flexing or pullout. I moved the mount onto Cisco track mounted risers with the Walker adapter plate and this also works well. Hope this helps. Good luck!

    Help with new rod holder setup

    Kind of got detoured with life, kids’ end of school year and spring sports, etc but finally got the new setup on. Priority this year was moving the riggers off the back where it was difficult to get to and operate, and also adding a couple rod holders on each side. I’ll have the flexibility to add more track down the road, but already this is better and a safer way to move things around. Thanks to everyone for their ideas. After debating all the options, pricing it all out, I went with Cisco track, their pedestal track mount, and their downrigger adapter plate to use with my existing swivel mount. Rod holders are the Cannon dual axis that are a huge improvement. The clincher in finalizing the setup was having a big laker on a diver several weeks ago and my wife can’t get the rod out of the old rod holder. She says, “You need better rod holders, I can’t use this.” Lol

    Thanks, everyone. I’ll try a couple different ways. I think hitting the snell with the pliers may have also been an issue, at least in one instance- didn’t even cross my mind until now.
