  1. State launch- Archibald Rd off rt. 98. cost $6, have debit or credit card. Pt. Breeze launch at the end of Rt.98 is free. Both are good launches and have different advantages. Good luck. Need fishin stuff? check out Narby's on your way to the point.
  2. 580 ft near Barker Plant. 7/9. Largest 21 lbs. Orange spoons and an orange fly about 100 ft. Down. Water was calm, a great day of fishing. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  4. Which ever you choose remember that wave height is from normal lake level up. Does not include the trough which is the water displaced below lake level
  5. So glad to get my tap water from Lake O .
  6. Thanx for info. Now if I can get my outboard fixed I can go fishin
  7. Spoke to mgr's office "we're going to open it next weekend"
  8. NYS Launch at Pt. Breeze is High and Dry Friday July 14, 2017 7:45 pm Drove down to the state boat launch at Pt. Breeze to see if it was open yet. The roadway is still blocked by the locked gate. What really irritated me was the fact that both launch sides were entirely above water. I walked out onto each dock with dry feet. The concrete the bulk-heads were approximately two and a half inches above the water level. The docks were of course much higher than that. If this makes any sense at all, I hope someone will explain it to me. I suggest you direct any inquiries to the LAKESIDE BEACH STATE PARK mgr.’s office at 585-682-4888.
  9. I've had mine for many years. It is truly a piece of quality craftsmanship. Never a problem and stills performs like the day I bought it.
  10. I actually visited both sides. Pics are of the state operated launch on the west side.
  11. That would certainly circumvent the 'slippery foot' issue for guys that do not fish alone. As others have suggested, I'm sure that they could devise a temporary solution if they had any interest in helping us out. If it would only stop raining, another week might solve everything.
  12. NYS Boat Launch at Pt. Breeze 6/06/017 update: Ramp still closed but now there is only about 6 inches of water covering the concrete bulk-heads. Ramp docks are nearly 100% dry. Temporary docks on the north side are all dry.
  13. Drove there Sunday , still closed. I didn't walk out to the launch to see if there was any change in the water level.
  14. It was closed 6/1. Last info that I have
  15. 6/01/2017 NYS Launch at Point Breeze Update Anxious to get some info on the status of this boat launch I contacted the NYS Parks and Recreation people in Albany today. They referred me to the Genesee Regional Office. The Regional Office referred me to the folks at Lakeside Park. It turns out that Lakeside has responsibility for management of the NYS launch on Oak Orchard Creek. There are no immediate plans to make any changes to the launch. The bulkheads (landside of the docks) are of solid concrete and cannot be easily changed. Some changes are under consideration to counter higher water levels. These plans for changes, if approved and funded, cannot be undertaken until water levels have receded. The launch ramps were closed primarily due to concern for boater safety. The submerged docks have accumulated algae and slime, resulting in extremely slippery and treacherous walking conditions. They don’t want to see anyone injured nor do they want to expose taxpayers to claims of irresponsibility or negligence. Park Management is not happy about the situation and are losing revenue by having it down, but it looks like we’ll just have to wait for some dry weather and for the Army Corps of Engineers to ease down lake levels. I know it isn’t great news but it’s better to be realistic about things. Looks like the County Launch on the other side of the creek is going to even busier for a while.
  16. I've enjoyed his fish videos more than any other that I think of. It doesn't excuse the baiting but if you've ever hunted ducks, it ican be extremely difficult to identify them in the air before you squeeze the trigger.
  17. Closed this afternoon. (Sunday may 28, 2917). The county launch has been so busy they put a guy there to keep things moving. There are only 12 long parking spots. At 2:30 pm there were still 8 trucks and trailers there. Word I got was that early in the morning was a real scramble.
  18. Good point. Guess we'll have to fish more to get our money's worth
  19. Assuming you mean the county launch by the Black North. We launched there Tuesday without incident. Boots or gortex shoes were in order. I get nervous there due to all the traffic. Not everyone understands the visibility problems in backing a boat and trailer let alone the elbow room we need.
  20. Highest Water in 150 years. Heavy rain expected tonight. All in all we live one of worlds greatest fishing locales. From Barcelona to Henderson. Not to mention Chataqua and the finger lakes and other inland lakes, creeks and streams. It does seem that we could pay a little more attention to wholesome recreation and a little less to polticians' expense accounts.
  21. State Launch at Pt. Breeze Closed. This is how it looked Monday May 21, 2017. Note: Fished Tuesday May23, 2017 in 10ft. of water +-, from the break-wall to Johnson's Creek. Not much in the way of floating debris. Nothing in the net for Browns either. -Rob

  23. Good news for folks in the Holley area, Stockham Lumber now carries 3/4" Marine plywood, so you don't have to order it and wait any longer.
