Just found out I have a SLAP (superior Librium) tear in my right shoulder. It's is a complete tear from the 10 o'clock to 3 o'clock position. They are going in and grinding the bone, installing a couple screws and anchors and reattaching everything. My question is this :
Has anyone had this surgery or similar and still able to bow hunt?
I am right handed and the doctor said it's a 50/50 for bow hunting. This hurts more than pain itself, as I like most on here, live to bow hunt.

I DONT WANT TO GO WITH A .243 IN CASE I MIGHT WANNA SHOOT SOMETHING BIGGER.... I DONT VARMINT HUNT ALOT.... SO PRIMARLY A DEER RIFLE.......I LIKE THE LESS RECOIL......THIS COULD STIR UP A NEST .... BUT WHATS THE BRAND OF CHOICE?... REMS ARE 700 DOLLARS ISH..... SAVAGE ABOUT THE SAME.... MARLINS ARE DIRT CHEAP..... 300 ISH...........
doesn't matter its all about shot placement have buddies who hunt with a 243 they knock them down

also recoil has a lot to do with the gun the wood I find kicks less than plastic heavier I have had surgery twice in my right shoulder and I shoot a 308 no problem almost no kick on my pro hunter and I shoot 178 grain
-
With the average bullet weight that you will use for deer (7mm-08, 140 grain- .308, 150 grain) the difference in recoil is so negligible as to be unnoticeable. After all, the 7mm-08 is just a necked down .308. and remember with a 308 you have much more choices in bullets I hunt with a 308 thompson center pro hunter I shot my deer was under 70 yards new bullet out called dlx

Ah, the 0ttawa river. I remember kayaking it near Algonquin park. Then in the evening dining on local pickerel which turned to be the Canadian name for walleye. What a beautiful place. It is truly a treasure to be able to come to such beauty.

Technically even if you were not aware, taking a picture of a fish caught out of season is illegal and posting it could be incriminating.
Even though it can be exciting to see a fish like that caught through the ice I want to remind everyone that since the fish was caught out of season while fishing for pike, it should have been unhooked and released immediately. The sooner you release it the better chance it has to survive. And even though it swam away, doesn't mean it didn't die later. That is why the rules were clarified in the 1015-2016 regulations. The revised rule is stated as follows.
Fish caught during the closed season must be unhooked and released immediately. They may not be handled for any other purpose, including taking a picture.
I was almost in trouble doing same thing took a picture of a shad I caught and released

with manual no draining batteries ore plugs no wires cheaper less moving parts but on other hand when push a button comes up by itself while you rig your line I find electric is mostly about saving time if you are a boat captain electric a must but a week end warrior manuals do fine
