We mostly troll for pike and walleye. Any debris in the water? Is it safe to boat?
  5. SLR Canadian side Any reports for the SLR on the Canadian side? Fishing? Water levels? etc.. I fish the area from Gananoque to Grass creek park. Heading up Saturday Thanks.
  6. Just got back to Pa this AM. Brutally hot. Didn't fish much during the day. Didn't want the kids out in that soup too long. Fished Long point area. No pike or pickerel but did manage some nice LMB. Switched over to evening walleye to escape the heat on Guffin bay. Did well drifting crawler rigs in 10-12 FOW. Nothing big but kids had a ball. Spent most of the day time swimming at Keewayden State Park.
  7. Can anyone give me some info on fishing Chaumont bay Guffin bay for pike and pickerel? Never fished that area before. Bringing the grand kids up next week. Staying at Guffin Bay resort.
  8. Dennis, This lure is very speed sensitive. If you try to troll too fast it will spin on you. It will only run about 1 foot deep so you will have to add weight to get it down. I like to use a 3 way swivel attached to a 4 foot leader of 10lb florocarbon.
  9. Yes. I use the old LS & sons crawler harness if you can find them.
  10. I learned this trick many many years ago on Lake St. Clair. It has accounted for more walleye than all the other lures I use combined. It is a Helin flatfish model U-20 with the hooks removed and a crawler harness with beads attached to the rear eye.
  11. All were caught trolling spoons over weed beds in 8-18 FOW.
  12. BTW all fish were released but 2 pike to eat.
  13. Just returned from fishing trip on the St. Lawrence river near Gananoque. 36 pike and 2 walleye. Pike 34". walleye 28".
  14. Anyone fishing the Golden Crescent bays? Will be staying at Guffin bay week of Aug 6-13. Any reports? Tactics? Etc. We like to fish pike and chain pickerel. Thanks.
  15. Bringing the Grandkids up first week in August. Staying at Guffin Bay resort. I would reallly like to get them some of thoes pickerel. Can you point me in the right direction?
  16. If restricted to just the bay because of the weather what would you recommend I fish for? I understand there is good pickerel and pike fishing around hoveys island. What about walleye? Can I expect to catch any trolling in the bay? Also since I only have a 17' boat I can trailer it and drive up to Chaumont bay or Sackets harbor and launch there. What do you think?
  17. Yes. Week before Memorial day.
  18. We are staying at Henchens marina because they were the only place that would allow me to bring my dog. How far of a run is it from Henchens to black river?
  19. Would the same be true out of Henderson Harbor? I have an Alumacraft Navigator 175.
  20. Greetings, I am looking for some info on fishing the Bateau channel between Grass Creek Park and the Howe island ferry. We like to fish for pike and smallmouth bass. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
