  1. Dedicated deep cycle is the way to go. From what I understand kickers don't put out much amperage to keep one do all battery up to a full charge. Besides carrying 2 batteries I would also consider a pocket sized lithium booster pak. They work great and you can use it in your vehicle all off season.
  2. Not to hijack thread but,^ unless you buy a closed cooling system inboard from saltwater you should look in the mirror. OR you buy it cheap enough that the money you saved over a fresh water boat or raw water cooling more than off sets the cost of repower. I believe the OP wrote in another thread that he was planning on repowering in the near future if need be. Do your homework on what engines go for before buying a boat with a ton of hours, raw water cooled from saltwater or has low compression etc. I will put money on the OPs engines being trouble free due to salt water.
  3. Looks like Cricket Cove Marina near Myrtle Beach and boat was probably dry racked. Looks good ,enjoy her.
  4. Besides this , now ( with this beautiful spring were having ) is a better time to address it. Picture a nice summer week that your off and you are all set for hitting it hard. Line let's go the first hour your out there and you spend the rest of the week waiting for a new line to show up. Fun, wow !
  5. Depending on MFG and price/availability a local hydraulic repair shop might be something to look into. When I did my auto pilot add on's that's where I ended up.
  6. Sorry, looks like he was referring to the last post on page one as you noted. Sort of skips a beat when going to next page ,my bad.
  7. Your post on the top of this page states it was sold, bit confused as to why he would send pictures.
  8. Not sure how floating "docks" finger piers would work in that open water. Just wondering if some big wake throwing boat cruising close by would create a unsafe condition when people may be loading/ unloading/ standing on floating structure ? Most floating docks / launch ramps are in a protected area. Yet I do agree that the engineers should be able to come up with something that is safe and USEABLE year round for that particular ramp.
  9. Have to agree with Final Flight. Oak Orchard and west to Wilson would be my go to choices for that time of year. Hard to go wrong fishing the Niagara Bar just about any time of the year.
  10. Starting battery should be stand alone for one obvious reason. Trolling motors may also get you back to port if the main engine fails. That leaves you with the least essential battery to wire them up to ,fish hawk and fishfinder battery and no, that will not cause any interference.
  11. NY takes in about 45 million for license fee's Then you add in boater reg cost along with taxes on everything associated with the sport and I think your close to 250 million in taxes and fee's. And don't forget they charge you to use some of the worst ramps in the country.. Yes, Jimski2s last 2 sentences were spot on.
  12. Too bad Thrillseekers 24 Northcoast listed wasn't 2' longer. Newer engines and a awesome hull , turn key and fish. Top of the line designed and built fishing machine.
  13. Pretty much agree with above post ^. Your going to need need a 2500 to pull and stop it, so you may have to budget for a suitable truck. Then your going to need a over width permit every time you move it or spend some money on a blanket permit. Gradys to the best of my knowledge have wood and known issues with that over the years. Chartering on O would have me looking at twin inboards, low center of gravity, more centered, and a hell of a lot cheaper to repower. Along with more client friendly working area at the stern when they are bringing a feisty one in.
  14. How many hours on the engine ? Condition of trailer and GVWC of it ?
  15. Since no one replied, Googled it and came up with www.keywestboatsforum.com I am sure they will have answered your question on that site. There were also some post located on thehulltruth.com. From what I read sounds and looks like a nice ride ,the only thing negative I found was the scuppers holes should be plugged when trolling around as they are low to the water line and it has a tendency to back flush. That was on the center console model which I would think has the same hull as the dual. Along with at least a 85 hp to move it along crisply.. It also said the earlier ones were designed for two strokes which weigh less than the 4 your looking at.So the boat may sit low because of the extra weight on the stern, again CC model and the dual may have a different transom set up or that issue may have been addressed depending on year of boats. Good Luck !
  16. One of the more confusing classifieds post I have seen . Title says he is looking for a mold and his post says he is selling gear, with no mention of the mold. Then the responses are ,how much for the mold. Classic.
  17. www.fish307.com is the cheapest place I could find them at. Just make sure you get the battery end and not motor end ,and they are pretty much labeled that way. I think they were around 30.00 per. I also went with 12 volt 30 amp circuit breakers from NAPA instead of fuses.
  18. They are regulated and the same amount of water that was diverted before this tunnel was put into operation is by passing the falls. 50% over and 50% to the feeder systems. The only way they regulate the actual water going into Ontario is through the dam above the falls and that is more of a diversion than dam, as it only goes about 1/4 or less of the way to the other side.I believe when they shut the doors on that its at night and that's so more water is forced into the feeder tunnels on both sides of the river. They don't do it in the day so as to let more water go over the falls for the tourist to see.
  19. I am well aware of a dealers overhead, including taxes, building and liability insurance, workmans comp, unemployement insurance utilities ,employee's etc. And I also know 90% do not want your trade in and are looking for clean deals. The last thing they want is a overpriced used boat going out the door and there responsible or whatever breaks in the next few weeks or so. IF you have bought every car you have ever owned from a dealer then I bow down to you and your post. Something tells me , no way and I shouldn't worry about me eating crow.
  20. IMHO any dealership is going to low ball you big time. Just like trading in a car, snowmobile, motorcycle etc. they will give 3,000 for it and sell it for 4500 after you walk out the door. I would list it here and Craigs , sell it and then go boat shopping. You now have some cash in hand and room to barter at the dealership and they have a clean deal, which they wanted to begin with . When trading in they know you want a particular boat and will keep that price high knowing that they hold most of the cards.
  21. From my good buddies book , The Quest for Girthra , listed under Musky Bill's List of Forty # 23- I didn't catch any, but I lost a 50-incher. RIP Goober
  22. Good luck with the sale , appears to be in VCG !
  23. Probably ablative paint which is designed to wear off like that.Helps prevent a big build up of paint over time. No you do not have to sand and start over. I normally just paint over it from the waterline down to where the side meets the bottom, but not the bottom. Also I paint the stern and a small area on the bow. Pretty much where the sun shines on the hull. Algae usually doesn't grow unless it has sun,so the actual bottom never seems to have growth on it. I use interlux ablative paint, about 90.00 a gallon and it takes me a few years to go through it with my painting method.
  24. Good pair of sunglasses ! Pros , are obvious . Cons, not great in low sunlight ,cloudy days or night. If not installed correctly ,looks like hell. Spring , fall , and some summer days it's nice to have the sun warm up the helm area. Honestly haven't seen many boats with it added. If you don't like it, just peel it off, not going to break the bank. Personally I wouldn't do it with my boat , I have a hard top with a big overhang and two of my windshields open all the way up for ventilation, I just like a clean view when conditions are not ideal.
