  1. When I first installed my fish hawk several years ago I had issues with the head unit not displaying. It was electrical interference from my outboard and had to change my spark plugs to a resister plug if I remember correctly. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. I’ll be opening back up and taking a look. I’ll be checking the switch and wires Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. I will look at that. Thanks. Do you think that could occur even though the downrigger was set and I trolled for several minutes before the rigger started to retrieve on its own? Thanks again Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Have an older mag 10 downrigger. Needed to use this weekend. I had to change the power chord to match the newer style chord on my boat. The downrigger worked up and down fine in my shop. Put on boat, and the rigger seemed to work down and auto up. So I set up the rigger to fish. I looked at the rigger and suddenly it started bringing up the ball. I went back and hit the toggle switch to stop, then lower back to desired depth. Again after about 5 to 10 minutes the downrigger just started retrieving the ball again. Any ideas what may be causing this? Had to retire the rigger for the day. The housing seemed to be tight with the circuit board and wires. Could the motor housing be contacting the circuit board that caused this to happen? It was a little bumpy on water but not bad? Any thoughts? 6. Thanks wallyandre I do have the p66 transducer selected. However I will look to see if there were 2-p66 choices. I do see the temp on my screen and also the speed from the speed wheel from the transducer. Many times I see marks from the 83 kHz that I don’t see from the 50 kHz. Sometime the other way. I see my downrigger weights better on the 83 kHz then the 50 kHz. I know it depends on cone but transducer on opposite sides, yet 83khz work better on the weights. I figure the 83 picks up better because I angled this on out a little to push cone out some Thanks for advice Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. I have gen 2 and gen 3 touch HDS 7. Gen 2 came with boat and got the Gen 3 off ebay to match. I had issues dialing in with Lake O fishing. Lowrance tech support was not helpful. Told me transducer to use, bought it, and did not work. Called back and said I need a sonar hub as well which I did not buy. At end of the day bought airmar p66 transducer and run the gen 3 at 50 kHz. I run the stock 83 kHz transducer on gen 2 with split screen with chart. My settings are general fishing, low noise. With my color pallet I run 80 on color line, and a plus 2 and 3 on sensitivity. I can usually see my down rigger balls and do mark fish. However I don’t think I mark fish like others with different makes of fish finder. If I was starting over would not choose lowrance. By the way, the transducer is everything in my opinion Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  13. Had issue with mine when I first installed. Would keep shutting off. It was interference with my merc outboard that caused electrical overload. Had to change the plugs in my motor and worked fine ever since. Don’t remember the plug type, but fish hawk told me what to do at the time. Some type of resistance plug I think Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
