  1. Most of my fishing season is focused on walleye in LE and I rely on leadcore.  I have used Bass Pro's and Suffix and cant tell the difference.  Both brands run fine and hold up for years...but I'm not dealing much with fleas or drag screaming runs.

  2. Tangent to this...

I've only been hunting for a few years, so I don't have an entrenched perspective on this question, but has NY ever done much to control the population of its suburban deer?  I live in southern Erie county and we are overrun with them.

Nearly every time I drive down the time I see multiple deer along the Cheektowaga stretch.

I have to think there's been quite a few people hurt or worse in car accidents because of them.  ****, I've taken our two in the last three years.

I'm not advocating what these guys did or suggesting they should be exterminated, but seems like the experts could put forward a couple suggestions to control their population instead of leaving the task to motorists just trying to get from point A to point B.

Cool Pond, I  wonder how a few pike would do

They'd eat themselves out of house and home in a year or two.  Pickerel on the other hand, after getting some BG going would be a cool experiment!

  4. We had one that size in our raspberry patch this summer.  Thankfully it was just off the ground.  One night I got in there with some foam spray and took it out.  Easy, peasy.

They never stung me or the kids...just the wife, repeatedly.

i would go copper if your looking for those depths.  the longer the leadcore the less is will fall because of drag. or do 10 color with snap weight but copper would be better

I second this.  Running that much leadcore will definitely lead (no pun intended) to some pretty bad tangles...

  6. For me, it's been slow.  Couple trips out of Buffalo and a couple out of Catt with nothing much to show.  I worked the weigh station for the STWA derby the first Sunday of the derby and only a handful of fish were weighed in.

From talking around, it sounds like the night bite went later into the month that it normally does.
