Hi all,
May name is Sam and I live in Pa. Just joined. I have been fishing the SLR on the Canadian side for many years. Fished the American side once. I also have fished Guffin Bay for walleye. I am married to my wife Christina and we have 2 grown children and 3 grandsons that love to fish. We fish from an Alumacraft Navigator 175 CS equiped with Walker downriggers and powered by a 115 hp Mercury. I would be interested in some info on fishing the SLR on the American side. ie Good places to rent a cottage. Good general fishing areas. etc. If anyone is interested I can provide some fishing and lodging info on the Canadian side. We mostly fish for pike and walleye. Don't ice fish. Glad to be here.

For future reference. The very back end of the bay in the evening is a good spot. Slow troll or drift with crawler harnesses starting in 20 fow down to about 7 fow. You won't get anything big but you will catch some. Be careful not to go too shallow because there are many rocks.

Here is something I bought at a yard sale for $1.00. Says on the box that it sharpens all size hooks from panfish to saltwater hooks. I tried some 1 oz spoon hooks and it did a good job.
