I use Walkers in the spring for shad season very fast to set. The one thing I found is to bring the line from the rod to the inside of the release and 3/4 wrap to the outside with the lure. Hope I said it right.

Fished today the fleas were bad on the wire dipsey. Found a way to get them off only on wire not mono. Keep a sharp knife on board when the dipsey is in and the wire is full of fleas run the knife next to the wire and off they go

A simple recipe for Lake Ontario salmon. Cut a filet into 1" to 2" cubes. Buy some shake & bake a flavor you will like. Put the salmon cubes in a plastic bag with the shake & bake to cover the salmon. Get a fry pan with butter a sauté till brown

Learned a trick in Mexico [emoji1166]. Fill a 5 gallon bucket with water then take zip lock freezer bags put your filet into the bag. Then put the zip lock in the water to the seal zip lock it shut and you have a vacuum

I think I have a couple of heartlands. The problem is they are at my camp in N.Y. I will not be there till early June for I guide for shad April and May. I will keep your number and text when I'm there. Good luck
