    I fish Lake George and Champlain often and yanking LC is by far, my most productive technique for lakers. I keep meaning to try it on Lake Ontario but I’m always getting distracted by the salmon and browns! I use mainly Sutton Flutter spoons, size 71 for lakes with a smelt forage base and 72’s or 38’s for lakes with Alewives. Tons of fun and the hits can be pretty exciting!!     Not sure what to call this clamp but I got it at Home Depot along with the spring and eye bolt and clamped it on to the aluminum frame on the boat. I used some strips of tire inner tube to line the inside of the clamp to prevent it from slipping! Works fantastic for pulling my Otters!     I have a similar main motor/kicker motor positioning layout with my kicker on a Panther adjustable mount. I went with the EZ Steer system and ordered the Extra Long connector rod to tie both motors together. Works quite well with no issues. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

    Per Shawn’s comment, failed to mention that part about Blood Run’s modification to the TX-44’s. Makes a significant difference when pulling copper! Thanks!

    Church Tackle TX-44’s have worked well for us up to 400 Coppers. Definitely upgrade the plastic spring loaded release pins to the stainless steel variety available from Blood Run Tackle.     Looking to add a Trollmaster kicker motor controller to my boat. Who uses one (or similar) and is it worth the investment?     Jig, this is what I use on my GARMIN. It’s paired with a Medium CHIRP 80-135kHz transducer. For trolling I set it to straight 80kHz and it does a fantastic job. Took me a while to understand all of the features of this transducer but got it figured out. As Yankee states, CHIRP is good for the nice images but traditional frequencies work much better for trolling! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

    Beckman makes a great net with a 9’ extension handle, oversized teardrop shaped hoop (31” x 36”) and 52” basket. Fully extended it gives you a 13’ reach!     Jigstick, I run a GARMIN 942xs with a mid level CHIRP transducer 80-135 kHz. Started out using it in CHIRP mode only but as of late, use it mostly in the fixed 80kHz frequency only and it performs better when trolling. In addition, it picks up my Rigger weights at all depths. They aren’t nearly as solid and I lose them beyond 80’ down in CHIRP mode. Considering adding a 50/200 transducer since I’m only trolling Lake O.     I recently added the second keel and also added aluminum strapping to all the stress points to keep the hardware from pulling out of the foam material. So far, I’ve pulled 300 Coppers with them and they performed great! I use the small orange speed clips from Amish Outfitters and made a loop with 5 or 6 twists and snapped the braid on.     Update since last post, switched the line to Amish Outfiters 500# Test Spectra two line and made a slight adjustment to the harness angle on the boards and problems solved!     Had great luck with the BJ Deeper Divers in chartreuse. Ran them off of 30lb Braide straight to the Diver and a 12# Fluoro leader around 7’ long. That set up took more shots than any of the other rigs on the boat for both browns and spring kings. In about 20 FOW, we ran them 40’ out on the line counter which gave us about a 15’ Dive.     Going to give Slide Divers a try for salmon next weekend and need some advice as to how much lead length to use. Reels are spooled with 30# Braid and plan to splice in 30lb Mono in the recommended lead length advised and then a 7’ leader after the barrel swivel in 20# Fluoro for spoons. Thank You!     Hi Guys, need some help with setting my lines on my Otter boards. Tried several different releases but all seem very sluggish getting them to slide easily down the tow line. The line reels and pulleys (Big Jon Manuals) are mounted on the top of my cockpit frame on my 21’ Walkaround and My Otters All have double keels and the angle of the board’s attachment line is tied per the recommended 9” font and 14” rear angle.     I’m considering adding a Traxtech transom trolling bar across the back of my 21’ Hydrasports WA. I currently run two Cannon Digitroll 10’s mounted to tracks on both gunnels. Would like to add a 3rd DR to the spread and thinking the transom bar would be a less cluttered alternative. Boat is powered by a 150 HP outboard. Does anyone use such a system and what are the pros and cons?
