Three dogs down, Thanks! I've tried to buy one from fish usa but they've been out of stock and I wasn't sure what line or rings they were using....

I do have a TD but don't they time out? I have never used the slide diver but it seems like it'll take a couple minutes to deploy. Can you take me through the process?

Sk8man, thanks ffg or the reply I only have the standard larger # 1 slidediver that I want to use this spring and hopefully into the summer with rings for a little more depth and I'm looking for a detailed chart that's close to my setup useing pp braid?

Three dogs down, thanks for that information on the 7oz weight I appreciate the information. What about the # 1 diver with rings what do you use for the large ring?

I've put two #1 slide diver outfits together using 80# pp braid and 100ft of 20# Seaguar red box fluorocarbon for the diver to slide on. I've been trying to find a dive chart that can get me in the ballpark. The charts on slidediver.com don't seem to have complete information. the one they sell only goes to 50 ft and they don't give the components wire or braid. The other one that's available is with 50 lb pp and a 4 oz weight but doesnt tell me what rings if any they're useing. Does anybody have a chart that would get me close to my target depth using the ring sets? They also make a 7oz weight set that that they say will get you to 110 ft but no details that I could find??? Thanks guys!!

Pete thanks for the video! Did you make it? Beautiful fly!!! Amazing dexterity!
Just to add to this thread, here is how I tie one of my favorite trolling flies, should anyone care to try their hand at making trolling flies.

Thanks peptalk I'll check Mike out. I live close by and I like to support local businesses when I can... hopefully I'll get my second Covid vaccine soon. Should be a blast on light maybe 8 lb mono or braid with a light fluorocarbon leader!!
Mike is still at BP last time I was there... he ties the best flies... you can put customized order with him also.

Thanks again guys!! 58Johnson the web site looks great I'll check it out. What is the best way to run these alone and what size fly would be better for Owasco in the spring?

Thanks guys!! I've found tons of the salmon type flys but can't seem to find the New England streamer Micky Finn type. Does anyone have a link or a website that has them. The only ones I found were only 1 1/2 Inches long with a single hook.

Thanks for the reply guys! I have two 8 in Spin doctors and was running spoons 24 back and often catching Lakers any time I would get near the bottom![emoji846] I stopped using them and started going for rainbows and walleye on spoons. I still get Lakers but it's more of a mixed bag... Pete can you tell me a bit more about the flys and where to get them?

We mostly fish Owasco with spoons useing downriggers and core and catch a few trout with them. It seems.fly and flasher is very popular on lake Ontario for salmon but do any of you guys use them on the finger Lakes for landlocke salmon and rainbows?

S8man, I found Seaquar red lable fluorocarbon fishing line 200 yds at Fish USA. Is this what you are useing? Its very reasonable!

Thanks sk8man! I'll start to look for some!

Thanks sk8man! it seams your saying you get more strikes with fluoro but fluorocarbon and fluorocarbon line very quite a bit between all the different manufacturers out there. Which fluorocarbon do you like and can it be had in bulk? If you buy 25 yards thats only 75 ft with long leaders you could use that up pronto....[emoji846]

Thanks for the reply! I will be using it for long leader material for sliders, slide divers and core. I'm using 12# Triline 100% fluorocarbon fishing line for leader now and it seems to be working well but I'm always looking for a better way.[emoji846]

What is the difference between 100% fluorocarbon fishing line and fluorocarbon leader?? Besides the price.... Thanks!

Thanks again mr 580! Great information!! I can't wait to get on the water! I ordered the clear divers as well....
LT Fisherman- I'll pass along a couple of tips for SD Light Bites that I use. 1. I put a bead on my line to cushion/protect the knot to my swivel when the diver slides down. 2. On the Light Bites I take a small piece of the clear plastic tubing supplied with the SD and put it over the loop of the back trigger so your line doesn't fall out of the trigger when deploying. 3. I'm an old LJ dipsey guy and used to their number system - so I mark my SD scale which is higher with the LJ numbers. Couple pics attached. Hope you enjoy and have success with your slide divers!

Thanks again mr 580!! I like the idea of the lite bite and just ordered 2, a pair of no 3 snap on rings and Spool of 80 lb power pro super 8 slick. I hope the pp slick will help with the fleas! [emoji846]

I bought a TD last summer and it made a big difference in our success. How do you guys use the TD to check time consuming presentations like 300 Copper and deep slide diver depth? I forgot the exact time but doesn't the TD time out after several seconds?? Thanks!!
