So I went over the Hudson on 90 shortly after posting this and saw that there were quite a few guys fishing for striper. I ended up losing a rod up near green island in Troy, not sure if I hooked the bottom or a fish but I looked back and it sucked right out of the holder.
So I ended up not going to the big lake, which I now regret.

Going to put in at pine Grove tomorrow, was curious what the more experienced folk think troll west or east? Have a whole slew of spoons to throw at them from planers and riggers.

Copy. For an aluminum boat like ours is there a forecast that u only go out in? We have an early 2000's lund 17 footer with a walk thru windshield. I mean do you only fish if the forecast is for up to 1 footers?

Personally I run 2 unitroll 10s with 8lbs balls and double stack to run 4 rods on the 2 riggers. I find depending on water depth I'll space them out 10-20ft apart depthwise.
I airbrush my own spoons and have a few that work quite a bit better than others, at this point in my life it's not fun unless it's a lure I painted lol.

I've done well with brook trout in Indian lake at the mouth of where John Mack pond drains into Indian lake, when the lake is at its highest level we got the boat all the way up to where it turns to rocks. Some nice 16-20" Brook trout.

I ice fish with a vexilar underwater camera, we've used it on the boat a couple times. Has a 90' lead and infrared lights. Aqua vu makes some top notch gear, and if I could go back and buy again I'd probably go that route.

Wednesday we went out to 100ft and picked up 2 for 3 on browns. messed around in the estuary as the sun was going down hooked 2 and lost them.

Used to fish in key largo when I was younger, running out 20+ miles in a 19 edgewater with a 135 optimax, much like the lake you pick your days. Although it was never really that bad.

I'm not sure how my Grady white 22 foot is going to work. Might be too small for 30 miles out, and too big for many shallow bays they have.
