  1. Any Laker and panfish reports? Looking for any info on Keuka for Lakers and panfish heading up tomorrow morning from PA I've fished Lakers on this lake in the past but we've been hitting Cayuga last few trips
  2. Keuka meeting According to the Keuka Lake Association web site there will be a DEC meeting at Keuka College at 6:30 on June 12 concerning the Keuka Lake fishery. Alewife die off and fisheries health will be discussed. Should be interesting.
  3. There seems to be very few (if any) smelt left in Keuka, but what about the sawbellies. Are they on the decline as well?
  4. Not doing anything or not marking anything up by state park this morning. Anybody doing anything different? Sent from my SM-N910V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Anyone know how shocking was at Cold Brook???
  6. WAS WONDERING IF THERE WAS ANYTHING GOING ON IN THIS LAKE. I HAVE BEEN A FEW TIMES EARLIER THIS YEAR BUT VERRY LITTLE LUCK.. ANY IDEAS GUYS

Got my "birthday carp" yesterday. Not as many around this year though. I hear there are at least a few bow hunters targeting them in the shallows at night with big spotlights from boats. Any idea if its legal to bow fish at night? While I think carp are great sport fish and a ton of fun to catch, I also understand that bow fishing for them is legal. I don't understand killing something you're aren't going to use, but to each their own, I guess. My real question is: is it legal to target them at night, with spotlights, in close proximity to cottages? If not, I'll probably make a call next time I see it.
  8. Keuka

anybody got any reports on the trout fishing in keuka lately.
  9. Launched @ 6 AM, just another couple of guys beside myself at that time, they were going jigging, turned them on to some jigs with willow blades under the head and a bag of Berkley smelt swim-baits, just wanted to instill some good karma on a good looking morning I went 6 for 8 trolling a glo frog racer Spin Doctor w/ a Reel Hooked Up fly, and a glo green spot Spin Doctor w/ a fly I tied, 2.3 GPS MPH, between the 2 and 3 setting on a Mag Dipsey, 280' back, best slot was anywhere over 167-176 FOW,but fish were pretty scattered everywhere, also hung a Seth Green rig over the side, with nothing but spoons, no takers. back on the trailer by 11:30, parking lot was filling up by then, saw Mr. Pease's truck (Fishy Business) in the lot, meant to ask the 2 jiggers if they were "LOU" people
  10. does anyone know if the water is opened enough at the Keuka lake state park end or is the ice still on we are waiting to go for some lakers last report i got it was still 75 percent froze
  11. I need a last day on Keuka for some smoker-sized lakers. BUT the trip to the Bluff from the Branchport Park may well be not so comfortable. I have been to the launch at the Harbor Lights before and it is certainly OK, but is it available say for this Monday ? I think the weather will be great for the Bluff fishing. Please, if any one knows, boy it would be nice to confirm. I know it costs a little for the right, but not really an issue . I tried to get to Andy Sable, but haven't heard. Hey GUFF, do you know for sure ? Thanks
  12. Starting a fishing trip in the morning out on keuka, does anyone know where there would be fish cleaning stations I could use to clean my trout?
  13. Keuka

There is a post circulating on facebook of a 260# catfish caught on Keuka Lake, near the bluff. The post states it was turned over to the DEC and it had a deer carcass in it. Anyone hear of this? The picture has the landscape cut off, but it don't look like Keuka to me. With all the phony stuff that circulates on facebook, I believe this might be a hoax. I figured someone here would know if it was true or not. Thanks, Jason
  14. I am heading to Keuka Lake this Saturday (July 5th). Can anyone tell me how the fishing is? Particularly interested in Lakers. Has all the rain effected the fishing at all? Thanks!

Went to the lake Friday evening and got in a couple hours troll. Set up south of the Waterfront on west side. Caught 1 laker and lost a nice chrome fish on black and purple spoon 15' down over 125 fow. Saturday morning four of us took off on a north troll from the Waterfront and caught 3 lakers in first hour with green dodgers, spin doctors, flies, and spoons 40 - 80 ft down over 125 fow. They shut down for the next hour, mean while I noticed a lot of fish spooking away from boat that where suspended on or near the top. Headed for the bluff and set up some shallow lures with long leads and GAME ON. Speed set at 2.2 mph. The copper rod performed best with a 100' of line out, with a 71 sutton. Down riggers and church boards also worked set for 5 - 35 ' down. Caught one 3.2 lb. rainbow and caught 14 plus Lake trout. Hunter Bodine with keepers in photo. See you all at Cayuga, for the June 22nd FLTA tournament.
  16. My dad (Tony Tostanoski) and our cousin Joe (Joe Tostanoski) finally got the boat dusted off and took a trip to Keuka the other day. They didn't do so well with their normal jigging routine so they put out their "Meat-Rods" and landed this beauty. 15.2lbs!!! Nice job Dad!!!

We Launched out of Branchport at about 5:45 AM fishing the Finger Lakes Trollers Association Club tournament and ran way south... We ran cores, coppers, riggers, rigs and wires... We were into our first fish shortly after getting the gear in the water and the action was steady putting 3 to 4 pound lakers in the boat until we decided to move out to the 150 fow range to take a look and bang we were into something big on the 130 rigger with a FLT Custom painted pro troll flasher which stayed hot the rest of the day... We fought this fish for about 10 mins , it did not want to come to the boat and pulled some drag a few times... We managed to get this lengthy 11 pound laker to the boat and in the cooler... We reset that rigger and not even after having it down 2 mins it fires again with a 8 pound laker which also put up a great fight but we managed to bring to the net..... We decided we had a decent cooler full of lakers and went in shallow and tried for 4 hours to get an off fish but only managed one small pike... We ended the day 14 for 14 all lakers and winning the FLTA Keuka Tournament with only weighing in 3 of the possible 5 fish we were allowed for a combined weight of 24.9 and also getting Lunker with the 11.3 laker.... Finger Lakes Tackle did all the damage today.. King of Sting flasher pulling a Big Weenie Seneca Ghost was HOT!! Great Day on the water other than the relentless winds.... Great Job to all who Fished today...... Mike 11.3 # Laker 8 # Laker

Fished Keuka today from the Branchport launch. Caught 8, lost 2, all lakers. Fished in front of the launch till 10, then headed to the bluff. Couldn't seem to catch anything but lakers. Fish are spread out all over. Seems like the weigh in will be a lot of Laker only limits. Any one having any luck on keuka with anything besides lakers? Jason

One of the BEST, solo, trolling only days on Keuka,so far, I went 12 for 14, had fish at all levels all over the lake, same set-up as before, Glo Frog Racer Spin Doctors with either a Reel Hooked Up Fly or a Spin-Glo, also had some on a Luhr Jensen #00 flasher, hammered design with peanut flies, mag Dipsies, #2 setting, non-stop action @ 280'/300' back, started out with 3 poles, ended up running 1 at 1 point because no longer after setting the drag down, FISH ON, wire and braid, 1 became seagull food, 3 pot bellied females came home, all the rest were released, but hopefully educated. "selfie" pic is for Erabbit to compete with his "tie"........I have my "hat"

Started out at the State Park, NEW DOCKS !! started down the East side marking a ton of fish, no takers, was trying new things, in-line trolling sinkers, 6 & 8 oz, started out using 1 oz. 100' back = 10', was using wire rods, Spin Doctors/fly/Spin & Glo's, couldn't get a reading of the depth they were running, I do know, into the wind going 1.96-2 GPS mph 8 oz back 200' (I was guessing 160' down) & I wasn't hitting bottom in less than 100' of water, I will play more with them in the future. When I hit the first 2 story cottage, I couldn't take all the marks anymore so started jigging...........probably if I switched to my go to white tube bait I would have had luck.........but my confidence was hyped up on a silver UV shad jig.........what do fish know anyhow........Went over to the West side, trolled WITH the wind, 136-141 FOW, Mag Dipsy's set @ 300' back & 180' using my ol'stand by Glo Frog Racer Spin Doctor with a Reel Hooked Up Xtreme fly, and my other NEW go to Glo Frog Racer Spin Doctor with a Spin Glo and went 4 for 4 Keuka Lake size lake trout. On the water @ 7 AM off by 11:30, met LOU member "Fishy" at the docks

  22. Looking for charter on Keuka during Aug 12-16 week. Two adults, four kids (7 though 11 years old). Any recommendations?
  23. Fished keuka from private dock, 8 smallmouth..4 keeper size, 1 15 inch all caught from 5:00-6:15 then everything shut down . All caught on drop shot rig, chartreuse plastic worm. Big fish slashing on surface, tried about every spoon I had with me, didn't have any body baits. Still.. Love them smallys
  24. I am taking 2 grand sons to keuka/ Seneca lake area next weekend and they want to fish, one is 7 and has never caught a fish, but the fire is burning there. I have no boat and would like some help getting them to a fishing spot, that can supply some action. Any help? Thx
  25. Keuka

Took my mother, brother and his friend out for an afternoon run on Keuka. This was my first time fishing this lake, so I treated it as more of a scouting run than anything else. Launched from the state park at 2:30 PM and was greeted by a completely glass-smooth lake. Trolled the northern half of the east side of the Branchport arm in 100-150 FOW at 2.0 to 2.5 SOG. Ran two DD/SD with A-Tom-Mik flies, one DD/dodger/Stinger (chrome/orange) spoon combo, and one rigger with a Stinger (blue/chrome) spoon. Ran all my rigs to cover the depths where I was marking decent fish, which was between 50-90 feet down. Only managed to hook up with one pretty 22" laker on a DD/SD/A-Tom-Mik by 5:00, when the rest of my party started getting bored. Pulled up the gear and started targeting the pan fish. I'm usually a patient guy and probably would have kept at it, if not for the desire to let everyone have their chance at some fish. Considering that this was my first time out on Keuka, and I am still learning the ins and outs of trolling: did I miss anything, or is there anything different that I should be doing on this lake? Comments and suggestions would be appreciated.
