Wilson 4/23/23. Rinse and Repeat

Recommended Posts

Satellite image showed NE winds late week had thinned the mud out along the shore. I thought the water looked better on the satt view to the West towards Wilson so Westward we went. It was good to see emerald green water again…. hello my old friend. Running around checking temps and for hooks on the fishfinder we stopped just West of Wilson and spun her back East to fish the Wilson plume which was slightly warmer and had tons of high Emerald Shiner schools and Alewives on the bottom in the 23-25’ range. We ended up close to double digits taking the typical mixed species bag of kings, cohos, a brown and a laker. Things are progressing rapidly. I was getting filamentous green algae on my downrigger cable as proof we are ahead of schedule with water productivity. Best baits continue to be a gold and red Brad’s thinfin flatlined off boards 100’ back and yellow NBK’s in stingray size on riggers and slide divers.
