HUDSON RIVER STRIPED BASS 09

Recommended Posts

I have a bit of a problem with stripers in the Hudson. They come there to spawn and as such I feel that they should be left alone.

On the other hand, going for stripers in Cape Cod bay or off Gloucester is a very different cup of tea.In fact I try to go there every year for a week just to hunt the stripers. But although their meat is firmer,it is not better than haddock

rollymopy i agree stay off the hudson ,and learn to bleed and properly clean your fish and you might change your mind as to the taste ,now i ant never had fresh caught haddock ,but have eaten the store stuff for 45 years and stripper for 12 so im a little sold on the taste of strippers..PS.. ge has stocked over 4.5 million striped bass in the last 10 years plus many electric plants along thr hudson were required to stock 250,000 annuly ,how many do the stock up there? pss we kept 4
