Well it finally happened. My trusty cabelas fisheagle baitcasting rod from high school met its match with this 6 lber. RIP Rod you have caught a crap ton of bass in 40 years

It kept catching even after breaking. I twisted the two ends to offset the guides, bend the end guide down a little and managed to reel in this 4 lb bass.

Awesome, I did the same with my rod found a drill bit put it in the rod then electric taped it and kept fishing it's been 2 years still holding on

Ha, nice fix. Not me. As soon as I finished  fishing I drove to cabelas on way home and bought a new Fenwick Fish Eagle rod to hopefully last the next 40 years
