Tomorrow I will finally slip my boat in Sandy creek.

I will be next to Eastfork Marina. Are there any tricky points or turns while going up Sandy from the public launch?

Thank you for any information you can give.

We do have a hot tub in the creek for relaxing.

Red X is where it’s at if it hasn’t moved since last season. I always stay to the east of that area.

So is Sandy the place where the wild things are?

Does this hot tub require a dress code? Or none at all?

Sounds like I will feel right at home.

Let’s just say that someone who has a reptile name on here, came back with “boat decorations” from Show World…..

What happens at Sandy, stays at Sandy.

Although I do think that some female kayakers may have photographic evidence of something hanging off the transom of Colin's boat. They seemed...excited...to see it.

And the hot tub is only fair game if you're "buffy fishing".

Cornelis if you want a hand launching and running to the marina let me know

I was going to drop her in today, but I decided to add a second bilge pump and while doing that

it seemed wise to do an overall inspection. The result was that I changed the tilt and trim motor and rewired the original bilge pump. I hope to put her in the water tomorrow and bring her to her new home.

Thank you very much for that gracious offer. If I need it , I will certainly get in touch with you.

For now, I am still making sure that everything works as it is supposed to work. When the boat sits next to the house, I can always climb in and fix whatever needs adjustments, but now It will be forty some miles away so the old girl has to be in tip top shape before the move. But I think it may be today .

Be sure to wave as you go by . Our place has the red ADK chairs

And please don't swamp me in my row boat .

Did she make the splash?

Yes she did, and lo and behold, after 24 hours in the creek she is still afloat.  It is the ugly little duckling with the nice and shiny white new kicker on its back. She is about 30 feet north of the East fork docks

I will drive up every day for the next few weeks to double check on that fact

Between Frank and Tommy, I don't think you have to worry. Although there was that one boat that went down a year or two ago...it was cursed. True story: it sank twice on exactly the same day, a year apart, after being sold in-between. I'd love to know where it is now and who owns it.

This morning I went to double check and found that both bilge pumps were dead. In retrospect it is my own fault, The pumps themselves were cheap junk and they could not produce enough pressure to open up the check valves with the weight of the water column above them,so they just spun and spun themselves to death. Too late I remembered somebody's advice to never use check valves on small marine bilge pumps. So now it has a new 2500 gph bilge pump with a three year warranty. That should help. You are right , both Frank and Tom are are very capable, and pleasant to work with. I also saw a few red ADK chairs, so I waved, although I did not see anybody wave back.

I'd have waved at you. Those other guys at East Fork, though, they're a bunch of degenerates.

Which might be why I like them.
