I remember reading online years ago that NYS had advisories for lakers over a certain size in Candice Lake. I was curious if that was still the case but can only find advisories for certain counties and Ontario county is not one of them. Do any of you know if NYS has sampled Canadice fish in the last year or so, and if so, could you provide me a link to that data?

many thanks,

Andre

AI Overview
Yes, you can eat lake trout from Canadice Lake, but with some restrictions. The New York State Department of Health (.gov) advises that women and children should limit their consumption to one meal per month for lake trout larger than 25 inches due to potential PCB levels, while smaller lake trout (under 25 inches) can be eaten up to four meals per month, according to the New York State Chiropractic Association. The general population can eat one meal per month of lake trout regardless of size

You want a filet a fish ride? Do not keep the belly fat. That's where all the toxins are. You fillet the belly fat out. All good. I live in the area and have eaten it my whole life and so far I'm still alive and doing well

Also, remove the lateral line... an additional concentration area to avoid
