Be aware, Operation dry water!

Recommended Posts

This is just another example of too many cops on the payroll. They are on vacation on the water, & enjoy being a pain to us all. If they are going to continue to have this many around they should be looking for real criminals, but noooo that is too dangerous, & requires real work.

It's unfortunate about the states deficit, and the governors views on pushing money into the general fund but......

Too many people who would not think of drinking and driving in a vehicle, or riding for that matter, are willing to do it on the water in boats and personal water craft where they seem to feel safe from scrutiny by the law enforcement officials. The law is the same for watercraft operation and hyway vehicles. Bottom line is safety of all people and property in operation of their conveyance. Drinking responsibly after the fun is ok. Getting drunk and stupid is NOT  Especially on the water. Falling down drunk on the ground is one thing...eventually they wake up...on the water...no wake up. I am sure the cops would rather be fishing themselves than having to do their job making sure we are all safe and enjoying the day without a tragedy.

Having the cops on the water is not much of a deterrent, for sure, & they probably are on OT as well. There are soooo many more people being shot, stabbed, (new record last week in Syracuse), robbed, asulted. This on the water harrasment of boaters is nothing more than a money grab for the local townships! This is a total waste of effort, as these cops should be after the hardened criminals, but don't hold your breath waiting for them to be redeployed, you will run out of air. The cost versus benefit of this activity is sooo bad, wasted salary & expensive equipment money for sure. Just a total waste of NYS taxpayers $$!!!!

Whatever...dead is dead...alcohol related vehicle accidents of any type, stabbed, shot, strangled,...deterrent would be visibility in any given situation. This will lead to operator licenses for boaters and points and fine assessed, until it is suspended or revoked and then there will be no scantily clad drunk females doing the watoosie for Ray. Then we will be in trouble cause all that will be left is ...well...Ray..doing his touch the toes..BUFFY STYLE :mooning::tmi::shake:

I've seen a bunch of stupid stuff from drunken boaters out here on lake champlain. They should be on the water checking. It's not a real inconvenience, you stop they make sure you are not drunk and you’re on your way again in about a minute or two. Cops are out to make our lives safer not to harass us.

Just keep drinking the Koolaide fishman08, the government loves people like you who want them to run & control our lives, frankly they have too much to say right now!!! We are being taxed to death in support of stupid efforts like dry water. They cut the funding for cormorant control, but increase the on water harrassment patrols, how can that make more sense? NYS government is broken, & every politician in office now needs to be gone in the next election!!! It is people like you who keep these animals in power, to quote a famous person " people who give up any freedom for an ideal deserve none! I am sick & tired of being ripped off by a bloated NYS government that refuses to realize that they have gone too far!
